Hi, welcome to the forums!
All in all, I would say that you made a decent effort and good representation of the kit! I read your blog--GOOD CALL on not using baking powder for snow!! That was MY posting somewhere that you read about the stuff making a terrible mess! The snow you're used is a little bit strange in its character--as you said in your blog, a bit "fluffy" (?) --but the whole application of snow is a learning experience anyway. Try some Woodland Scenics's snow. Take a look at this link: IMPALA IN THE SNOW
I like it that you braved the figures---they really add to the presentation, and though they're definitely a more difficult aspect of modeling, yours are honestly a great start. You'll get better at them the more you do them.
The worst thing I can pick out in your model is, without a doubt, the massively out-of-scale antenna and "star ariel". You should consider replacing these with stretched sprue. Light a candle and warm a piece of sprue over it, and pull it slowly to get a thin piece of plastic. Cut and use pieces to make the star ariel. These really detract from the model, to be honest---it would look better without them, in my opinion, rather than what you have.
Still, all in all, a good effort and nice model.
