@disastermaster

yeah ... I choose poorly for the Antenna

And thank you SOOOO much for the tip about the snow on the exhaust ...  obviously, my thinking was way out of place regarding that ...

and I will be more mindful about the snows on the rear deck as well.. although, that would be a little bit tough nut to crack for me, trying to guage how much snow should be there, just like you said ...

again, thank you soo much

@ the doog

Ahh .. yes yes.. that was your post .. I was reading about if I should use baking power or not as ( for some reason) I was not sure of using it ... glad I read your post .. Better be safe then sorry ...

yeah, I thought the Game Workshop snow would be fine powder, apprently, I was wrong.. Live and learn I guess.. You're right, I should have gone with woodland snow but NOO .. I had to choose the GW snow ..

I really suck at figure painting .. but like you said, I have to take the plunge.. better be sooner then later..

You're right about the Antenna ... I should have left it alone or made a new one but I got lazy halfway ... not to mention it wasn't easy making that ...  :(

Thank you soo much for the feedback and advices sir ... I have two more kit that I want to display with wintering weathering.. your feed backs will surely come in very useful in those future builds

 doogs right about the antenna, you also need to consider resizing the antenna on the turret also http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b201/LauraSeabrook/Avatars/Smileys/blink.gif. The diameter should be fairly comparable to a finger in 1/35 scale.

 And....... since you asked, here's another tip..... http://i1001.photobucket.com/albums/af133/hummingbird2012/Tamiya%20King%20Tiger/Other%20angles/P1120532-2.jpg....there wouldn't be "any" snow on the exhaust pipes or around the armored shroud - due to the engine heat, there would be little to none on the rear deck (depending on how long the engine had been running) .

 Other than that this build looks really good.

Hi, welcome to the forums!

All in all, I would say that you made a decent effort and good representation of the kit! I read your blog--GOOD CALL on not using baking powder for snow!! That was MY posting somewhere that you read about the stuff making a terrible mess! Dead The snow you're used is a little bit strange in its character--as you said in your blog, a bit "fluffy" (?) --but the whole application of snow is a learning experience anyway. Try some Woodland Scenics's snow. Take a look at this link: IMPALA IN THE SNOW

I like it that you braved the figures---they really add to the presentation, and though they're definitely a more difficult aspect of modeling, yours are honestly a great start. You'll get better at them the more you do them.

The worst thing I can pick out in your model is, without a doubt, the massively out-of-scale antenna and "star ariel". You should consider replacing these with stretched sprue. Light a candle and warm a piece of sprue over it, and pull it slowly to get a thin piece of plastic. Cut and use pieces to make the star ariel. These really detract from the model, to be honest---it would look better without them, in my opinion, rather than what you have.

Still, all in all, a good effort and nice model. Smile
