Dragon 251/7 halftrack... Getting ready to pull my hair out

To anyone who has built any variant of Dragons 1/2tracks I've been working for two days trying to get everything to line up it seems like the top doesn't want to work with the walls and if you attach the walls to the top then to the bottom hull then it doesn't want to line up there I've tried about every way i can think of should I just get as close as I can and fill gaps and then carve the panel lines on at the join or what

Clint,

You may want to check to ensure you've got the floor plate aligned correctly. That's usually the source of the hull fit problems encountered with these kits as the floor plate can slide a bit when you install it if you don't do the install at the same time you add the angled hull side panels.

Oh lord, just wait until you get to the tracks!

Read my blog/WIP here---you'll be forewarned, at least!

Thanks Guys

I haven't got the floor plate tacked down yet. I noticed early on that it can sway left and right just a bit  and it might give problems later on I think i have found the problem and have no idea how I missed it until now but the upper part of the hull bows in and back out awful bad in the middle on both sides and that has to be whats causing my gap problems. I have built a D version before and have to say I like how that hull is built alot more than this C probably won't be building another C version again.

and to the Doog... That build is Awesome I could only wish that any of my builds come out looking as good as either of yours

I have only built the same /17 that Doog did (must say i didn't have any issues with the tracks) but i do have a few of the /C's in the stash. I didn't realise it was such a problem, i assume it would go together just like the /D.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Clint, thank you--and don't worry--if you stay around here and participate and learn, you'll be churning out great builds to whatever standard you desire. FSM forums has a way of doing that for modelers! :)
