r13b20 Excellent job so far! This thread caused me to rejoin the forums. Hi y'all.
Hey back at you
Steve
Building the perfect model---just not quite yet
13B - Glad you are enjoying the build and it has brought you back. Should have more for all of you to view this weekend.
Steve - Nice to see you!
Thanks Duster and redleg.
I'm glad I only trained on m110's and didn't have to crew one.
SPLASH, OUT! Bob
Okay, another Steve here.......
.........how many Steves are on this forum anyway?
I haven't been checking in too often lately..... been very busy.
Been watching occasionally and like what 'ya doing Mike, especially those tracks.
For me, the tracks are "the BLING" of armor.
Steve - It is always a pleasure to have you stop by old friend... and with all your buddies. Thanks old friend. The armor bracelets are always fun!
Mike
As always you have scratched and painted and created another masterpiece.
For once my smart asterisk commitments are stilled.

As to distermasters 1) "Okay, another Steve here.......
2).........how many Steves are on this forum anyway?
3) "
I can only say:
1) Darn right (glad you can use my name-just don't sully it----I do that well enough myself
2) just enough (for a good time)
3)
Steve - Thanks for the kind words. LMAO as you answer Steve Distermasters ..... no one could ever confuse anyone with him or should I say..."THEM"!! LOL
Mike,
This is fantastic! All that you need now is the noise that she makes when fired. Brings back a lot of memories. I'm afraid to start mine after seeing yours. Thanks for the memories.
Terrific work, Mike!
After a busy move into the new house, I'm just getting time to model again, and it's a pleasure to come back and see the same model I had just finished but in such a completely different finish and look. I don't have to even tell you that you nailed it----fabulous, honestly! I love the dust cover on the barrel and sights.
Earl - Thanks for the kind comments. Rather than being afraid, I would hope this build is inspiring you to the fullest potential. As for the noise, yep that is something you cannot describe....and lets not forget the smell!
Karl - Glad to see you back and I hope the new humble abode has everything you and the lovely lady need...enjoy. Thanks for the comments. I am having fun with this one. Not often I get to do chipping. As for the covers, I want to show it in the "ready to roll" look. Still have to mount it and get the spade on. Then add some more riding goodies. Going to add an AFV camo net rolled up...that should be fun
As always thanks guys
Whoa! That's a BIG gun!
Love everything about it Mike! You're really making this one come alive!
BTW, never heard of a Tool Paint set by MIG.....I'll have to look into that!

It will give you a place to start
Some very nice progress here Mike! Very cool work as usual on all the details.
BP Models
Bill - Thanks for the peek....and the kind words
The noise and the smell of a Battalion Fire for Effect was awesome. I will never forget that, your build is so good that it looks like you took pictures of the real thing and then reduced them. Thanks again for bringing back those memories of the greatest gun that I ever gave fire directions to. Just my thoughts from an old horse soldier who did not use a computer to do the calculations.
Stay well my friend,
Thanks for the link to tool set paint. I've always struggled with that
Redleg, That is some exceptional work. Congratulations. And thanks for mentioning the MIG tool set paints. That's very helpful. I'm going to order a box today. Thanks for sharing the pics. Really nice! And I take it your chosen nom de guerre is a reference to the Cincinnati Reds?
Earl - Ahhh.. the small of a Battery TOT and the use of a GFT. Thanks... be well
Raual - The paint set makes things easy...all in one box....enjoy
Barrett - Same explanation as for Raual. As for Redleg....nothing to do with baseball... see the explaination here

As for me, this will give you an idea... www.redleg2scale.com/About.html
Thanks guys
After a couple of weeks of being busy, I was finally able to get back to the bench. After final assembly of all the major sub assemblies, I mounted the completed vehicle.
The track pads and road wheels were dusted with MIG Desert Sand pigment to finish the weathering. Here is a view of Karl’s favorite part of the M110…the crew seat. I added the chains used to hold the folding seat. Here is a view from the opposite side of the vehicle. Now to add some AM items, water cans, packs, section chest and then an AFV Camouflage net rolled then it will be finished. Hopefully I can get this build completed next week. As always if you have any comments, please feel free to drop in. Rounds Complete!!

I like it. It is great to see that old kit done up right.
Gino - Thanks for the peek, as for getting a model started, I understand the feeling of "so many models, so little time!".
Rob - Thanks, it is always fun to work with the "classics" but they are a bit of work. Then again we are "modelers"!
Man, that looks TOTALLY sweet, Mike. You never disappoint! What a great model! (That seat looks killer!)
Excellent Excellent Excellent
Love that machine Mike
