Thanks, Doog. I may do that. You're right--it needs some depth.

I was sifting through my stash of figures the other day looking for one to stick with it. Help bring it to life a bit more.

It looks fine, Chris--you should do some light drybrushing on it in BOTH tan and a metallic grey to show both details, dust and wear, and a nice figure would really set it off.

Yeah, any DY vehicles you build and paint ought to be cut with a light tan by at least 50%. Honestly, if you get the color to something of a tan itself, a raw umber wash will bring it into a very nice weathered hue that looks appropriately aged and "scale correct". Try it on your next one!

I like your base. Simple and perfect for the Kubel.

I bought this kit some 15 years ago and never finished it. It became a wreck with missing parts and I borrowed some parts from a '78 corvette to finish it.  ;)

Even if that color is a bit on the warm side I like it. It would be perfect after some dusting effects. I think it's great.

I didn't realize how old this kit was, but I got it at a show vendor's table for $4, and it'd been in my stash a while. Went together fairly well. I'm cheap, so rather than buy a bottle of 'official' Dunkelbraun, I mixed my own using Model Master Dark Tan, a smidgin of white, and MM Turn Signal Amber for the yellowish tone. I thought it turned out ok, but reference pics seen later show this color much less warm, lacking the orange or yellow tones. Oh well. It also sits a little crooked as I didn't get the wheels quite level. The base sort of compensates for that, though.

Decals were finicky because of their age. I didn't clearcoat them, and surprisingly, only a couple cracked apart on me. I was able to wing it and get at least a minimal marking scheme on.

I gave it a light dusting and a bit of drybrushing for weathering and called it good. Here's some pics.
