I know what you mean Karl, I'd like to encourage people to post more of their group build models over here on the regular forums. I generally always post my stuff though I haven't posted the 'Jumbo' Sherman yet since I'm slowly working on a diorama and want to take some better photos.

I did think about doing a WIP for my Tamiya Type 74 but decided not to. I think I'm a competent modeler but not up to the quality for a WIP. I did consider doing it as a demo to some of the beginners on how to dress up a vintage Tamiya kit, aka filling the battery mounting holes and covering over the open sponsons under the hull but decided in the end just to post some of the WIP photos with the model.

Guess as I see it, if this makes any sense building something in a GB is like a bunch of us sitting around building models and shooting the bull. Doing a WIP is like going out on stage and doing it in front of a bunch of people-I just don't think I'm ready for that yet.

first apologies for not being more active of late and missing some GBs i joined. the wall is thick and tall and i am still working through it.OTOH the other side will be wide open and crazy. (you have no idea how out of my comfort zone crazy this will be).

GAMERA. i think you are ready for a WIP. 1. we learn by our mistakes. 2.  as my dad, God bless him,  said it's less painful to learn by others' mistakes. 3. I think, and i did, you forget that for everyone who is more experienced there is one less experienced who also needs some encouragement. If i hadn't tried oil washes, posted, made mistakes, and got encouragement and suggestions, i wouldn't be the oil wash and filter nut i am today (and quite good at it).

KARL i know JIBBER and i encourage folks to run multiple threads in appropriate forums when we do GBs.. as stated we get more feedback from other sources and that is always a good thing. 

Don't worry RB, I don't think you have to worry about flooding the forum. The more the better.

Stik does raise one problem that was raised in another thread, and that's a lack of feedback. But unfortunately that seems to be an issue in both GB's and WiP threads.

I do a few WIPs, but generally fell like Stik: I don't want to flood the forum, so I've been posting only in one sub-board. I certainly don't mind posting up pics of a finished GB project in the Armor board, with a link to the GB......

Agreed though, the Armor board could use some more WIPs.

Yeah, I committed to both GBs, but only got one started and completed. I really do need to 1) commit to fewer GBs, and 2) finish more of the fewer that I commit to joining...

And yes, thank you for hosting this GB Bish.

Karl, I have not done an Armor WIP on the armor forum for awhile, either as one from a GB, or on its own. I suppose due to less feedback on mine and the feeling that I am over posting by showing it twice when it is also in a GB makes me do that. I suppose I can do my part to help keep the Armor forum active and do my next new AFV build as a WIP here...

Ah, don't worry Bish--I certainly have no ill feelings about this post! It's actually nice to see that there actually ARE a lot of good armor builds going on in the forum; I just wish more of them were HERE. And hey, I'm only one guy with an opinion, no better than anyone else.

I can't take any credit for your superfine Jagdpanther; giving helpful advice was just doing the same you'd do for me!

The glory on that beauty is all yours. Hopefully we'll see more WIPS here as well, but time will tell. In any case, thanks for posting these builds and taking the time to document them all. It's nice to know we actually have decent traffic with Armor modelers here, even if its not in the main forum.

Karl, I was going to apologise to you in the opening post, as I know how much you dislike seeing these really nice builds but having not been able to see their progress. You know I certainly agree with you that GB's have taken to much of the attention here, even if I do enjoy them. I do hope we can encourage more people to do WiP threads, whether it be in armour, aircraft or any of the other sections. And for my part, I will certainly do my best to encourage those who do take part in GB's to also do a separate thread in the relevant section, that way getting the best of both worlds.

Me and my Jagdpanther certainly know the benefit of that, and again, I would like to thank you for all your help and perseverance for that.

Some nice models there of a nicely varied skill level and styles!

I'd like to invite all the participants back to the regular armor forum for their next build so you can share your triumphs and tragedies with all the members here, not just your GB participants.

Thanks Bish! I had fun with the Hellcat and learned a lot about armor building.  I'll have to add a few more to my stash.

Thanks again for running these Bish! Wish I could have got the dioramas finished but I'm probably lucky to have gotten this much done as slow as I build.
