This is my take on a Panzer III M in Tunisia. This is depicted as right before the capitulation of Panzer Armee Afrika. A good solid veteran crew in the last of the Mk III's.
Paint is MM Acryl "Sand" with a mix of "Armor Sand", "Sand" and "Dk. Gray" for the disrupter color. Scratch built rear stowage rack, side stowage box and spare wheel holder. Lots of track spares added for that "used" look. I took the barrel, mantlet and add on armor bracket from a Tamiya kit. Value Gear and my spares provided the stowage.

Yessir Mr Stik this is the old Dragon "Imperial Series" Pz III M/N, which I believe was a rebox of a Gunze Sangyo kit.
Quite state of the art in the '90's.....LOL.
IMO it holds up well with some TLC and a good paint job.
Oh and some replacements from more modern DML kits.....

Track pins. They appear quite often in period photos stored in that fashion. I used some lengths of .020 rod painted "Gun Metal".

Perusing photos and looking at the build told me she was just a bit too clean. Tunisia is quite muddy during the rainy season of January/February and 1943 was no exception.
She's been through two rounds of pigments, one wet, one dry. A bit of mud and a lot of dust now. She's such a dirty girl.
Photos to come as I need a nap. It's snowing in my part of the world.
I was going to suggest a dot-filter, but that would be my preference. It scared me the first time I did it, now I wouldn't think of not applying it. It's hard to suggest weathering, because we all like different levels of it.
Not a big fan of dot filters, although I do not believe my methods in using them are correct.
In any event I added mud made from white glue, pigments and craft paint. I wanted a "partially dry" appearence to the mud.
Finally, I'm calling this finished.
