Luftwoller: I was hoping to use the Chassis from a Unimog, but can't find one for a decent price, so I'm going to try scratchbuilding that too, with help from some measuerments and instruction photocopies from SprueOne. The only "real" kit part will be the wheels, which SteelRudi is helping me out with from a guy in Africa who makes a full resin Buffel, that's out of my budget. Doog: Unfortunately, you're completely right. All I have to work off is a walkaround photo shoot. I used the measurements for the real thing I found on a website (length height nd width) and scaled them down to 1/35, as well as scaling dowsn some of the walkaround pictures, so that they are in 1/35 scale, and use them to get the shapes right. SprueOne took some pictures of the chassis with rulers alongside it to get the size of the chassis just right. Even then it's going to get tough. Since' it's my first attempt scratchbuilding anything more than an antenna, I'm not striving for perfection though. If it looks like a buffel when it's done, it's good enough for me. |
