Eric, if you haven't done any pe before, which sounds to be the case, I'd definately stick with Eduard for the first few. They are complicated enough. Make sure you have a nice, small, well fitting tweezers, a good flat nosed pliers (to bend the pe against) and some brass rod (to apply ca glue to the part). I've seen, somewhere, to wrap the end of a toothpick with masking tape (facing outward) and use that to position small parts. Let the glue set up, then remove the toothpick from the part. I haven't had much luck with this method, yet. If you can afford it, the pe bender tools work pretty well, but you have to be really into it to justify (in my mind) the cost. I bought a small (2 inch) hold 'n fold and really like it. I can hold the tool up close to my totally shot eyes rather than having to leave the tool on the table. But I really need a bigger one for longer parts. But even then, the small one cost $25 and the bigger ones are around $65. I'd rather spend that kind of money on models. Which is why I don't have a punch set either! I'll have to be getting one of those someday when I start working on my (shudder) winged things!! (I've got some nice Accurate Miniatures kits that are just screaming for me to work on them!! lol)
In a group build, everyone just kind of does his (or her) own thing and writes up a bit about what they've done for the past while, any problems or successes they've had, etc. It's really informal, needless to say. If you can post pictures of your progress, it makes it a lot more fun for everyone. I can't get my wife's stupid camera to download any pictures, so I haven't been able to post any yet. I've even had the IT guys here at work looking at it, and nobody can make it work
Hope this helps.
