The 2015 "Red Hot and Rollin'" GB feeler
Posted by mustang1989 on Saturday, December 13, 2014 7:07 AM

Hey everybody. Alot of folks here on the forum know me as an aircraft modeler but last month I got the hankerin' to build.....er....rebuild a car model from 32 years ago. Initially it started out as a hood repainting and replacement and very quickly turned into a major undertaking. In the meantime I started researching and acquiring additional knowledge in automotive modeling and thought to myself,  "How about running an automotive GB?". So here we are fellas. I have Raven728  to help out as co-host  and a number of folks who are interested in pushing this thing forward already. Cool

The build dates will be from 1 January, 2015 to 2 January, 2016.  I'll post some guidelines to follow on the official posting after Christmas and get the official post up and running. Till then , these are the GB badges that we'll have for the build:

The first one from Cody J- Thank you sir!

and the second one jgeratic was kind enough to help me with! And thank you sir:

Joe, I'd love to be in on this one with this guy in 1/16 scale.......

Only thing is the start date may not work for me as I managed to get time off from the 25th thru the 2nd and plan on making the most of it bench-wise.  The anticipation of building this has worked wonders in getting me out of an uber-serious modeling slump - waiting for the first of next month may not be possible.

Lee:Sounds great buddy! Will be lookin' forward to see what you're gonna bring in to this.

RUDDRATT: I'll be getting an official thread up and running soon and we go 'er from there man. That's a great lookin' kit to get out of the slump with BTW.

Please sign me up-not sure what I'll build at the moment.

One question-will you be allowing cross-overs with other GB's?

Ruddratt-really looking forward to seeing your build in progress-I'm hoping that Revell re-issues one of the 1/16 digger kits soon so I can add it to my stash.

Thanks

Bob

Hi Mustang.

I'm definitely in. I have the 51 Chevy on hold (mask for ghost flames came in yesterday woohoo!) until after the first. I may also need to roll over the 37 Ford as I don't think I'll get it done by the end of the 2014 GB end.

Eric

Bob:Crossovers, yes. And welcome aboard! I'll cover all the guidelines in the official GB thread.

Eric:I was beginning to wonder where you were....Whistling. Lookin' forward to your '51!

I missed this the last time I was on but there is a 3rd option for the GB badge. Here goes:

Mustang, you can add me to this party.  I have a few from the '14 GB I might roll over and then might start something new.  I will be watching for your post.

Nothing ever fits……..and when it does, its the wrong scale.

To make mistakes is human.  To blame it on someone else shows management potential.

G'day guys,

I might as well jump in with both feet! It might get me out of this modeling slump that I'm in! I might have a crack at a 61 Impala I recently acquired.

Count me in mustang,

I have an AMT 67 Shelby GT to build for a present for next Christmas. It'll be a while till I get to it though.

Steve

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Sign me up.  I'm not sure what I'll build just yet.  I'm thinking a 65 Malibu or a 66 Chevy II.  I'm not sure I want to start 2015 with a muscle car.  lol
