COMPLETE - Tamiya Kawaski Ninja ZX-RR
Posted by keavdog on Saturday, November 4, 2017 12:53 AM

I've done a couple motorcycles in the past - this should be fun.

I have the engine mostly together and in the frame

Bad Pics - but the Tamiya decals for the funky green wheel stripes went on okay.  I still need to settle them down a bit

And I couldn't resist the Tamiya detail set - love the forks

Thanks,

John

Good start on that engine.

The upgrade parts look good.  This should be interesting.

I've built a few bikes myself.

Been a while, but I spent some time on the bike this weekend.  These kits are a joy to build - though is it me or are some of the tamiya metalics really not brush friendly....

Thanks,

John

Little more work.   Front forks are next then body work.  I really love these Tamiya bike kits.

Thanks,

John

Looking good! I love MotoGP bikes. I'm looking forward to more progress.

All Right! This looks fun. I am a motorcycle guy and modeler. I do have the Tamiya Bimota stashed here somewhere. Anyway, I'll keep an eye on you to see how this goes. It looks good so far.  Geeked

At 1/12 scale this sucker's already packin' a punch in the detail department and then you go and add all this "fun stuff". This one outta be good.Popcorn%20and%20drink%20emoticon_zpsnbkzs8ys

Looks great! Can't wait to see the finished results. I have never built a bike before but I might try one after seeing this.

The more I see these kits and how they go together, the more I really want to try one.  Thanks for posting this build log.

These 1/12 scale tamiya kits are extremely well engineered.

Did a bit more work and I think next is body panels :o   Need to paint and polish

Anyhow - more fork detail, handblebar grips etc.  Nice decals providing really cool detail

Thanks,

John

Got all the plumbing done and the final details.  Here's a shot of her before buttoning up all the panels.  Kinda sad as it hides the details

All buttoned up, ready for decals

As an example of the increadible engineering these 1/12 scale recent moto kits have - the windshield installs with NO glue needed!  Slick.

Got started on the decals.  They are still settling, but wow even the decals are well thought out.

Thanks,

John

Cool John,

I built a couple back in the 70's and really enjoyed them. I would like to get another someday.

Steve

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

I built a few back then too.  The newer kits are even better!

I'm calling this one done.  If you haven't built one of these recent Tamiya 1/12 motorcycle kits I suggest you do.  They are really a joy to build.  If you are a painter, you'll love these kits.

Thanks,

John

Love that Kawasaki green. Time to add that to the new shelves. Up front of course.

It's the green that attracted me to the kit.

Thanks Johnny - it's front and center on the new shelves :)

Hogfanfs - thanks for the kind words.

Thanks,

John
