Didn't make it-no excuses-poor planning & execution on my part.

Thinking about doing a well weathered diorama in the near future

James-thank you for organizing and monitoring the 12 Days of Christmas Challenge-going to get started looking for the right kit for the build.

James-you were correct in your prediction-haven't spent as much time on the Ford as I need to-self induced life choices but it's all good.  Will post pics tomorrow afternoon of progress.

Harold-bought that primer to experiment with Vallejo metal paints-haven't tested yet.  For auto & planes, I use Tamiya grey spray-sometimes Tamiya white if a smoother surface is needed.  I usually spray in the garage with a respirator-however, I stick with acrylics in the house.  Played a bit with using Tamiya lacquer thinner with their acrylics-better finish but the odor is enough to make me switch back to their acrylic thinner.  Just started using Vallejo Model Air-I'm liking it enought to continue using it on military projects-and great job on your build-just saw it over in the armor section.

Bob, I noticed Vallejo Surface Primer on your work bench. I know James and several others use Vallejo too. I've been using Tamiya brand mixed with 50% lacquer thinner, but while I get good adhesion I also get some rough finishes from overspray. I'm looking for a smoother primer finish. What are your thoughts?

Indeed I am much improved but having to miss out of some Champagne at midnight last night has made me slightly grumpy!

These penicillin tablets are strong and I have to stick to the dosage like glue to make sure the infection is killed off properly (2 days to go) and also my bum to a toilet seat! These tablets sure make a good laxative!

I have managed to do lots of reading with my E-reader these past few days and left teeth marks in the back of the toilet door and scorch marks down the pan! Loo roll is currently being kept in the fridge and it is worse than the effects of a British army Curry!

I am not sure if you will have the time to age and rust this project as the aim is to build and finish in 12 days.... not much time left, but go for it!

Next time I will stick to the infection not the cure!!!!

Thank you Harold & James-and will post as I progress. And hope you're feeling better James.

First round of paint off-repainted with the end result in mind-and the Vallejo Weathering kit that I hope will get me there...

12 Days of Christmas Challenge-Revell '37 Ford Pickup
Posted by bobbaily on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 3:11 PM

Started this one for the Weekend Madness GB but wasn't satisified with the paint & body work.  Since I started on Dec. 27th and had committed to the 12 Days of Christmas Challenge (and they are both great motivators to get me back to the bench), b-elow are the pics of progress thus far.  The body work will be taking an Easy Off Oven Cleaner bath shortly-for those not familiar with the 12 Days Challenge, I have until Jan. 6th to complete.
