Hey Jezz - any chance you could describe the method used to paint the chain?Whistling [:-^]  It looks great, and I can not get mine to ever look that good.

Thanks.

it is done very simple first prime the whole thing then paint both sprokets in this case gun metal then paint the chain matt black

once dry i then drybrush a little with flat aluminium or silver then give the whole thing a wash with a mix of burnt umber and black water paint. then when dry use a damp soft cloth to wipe off the paint leaving the water paint in the recessed details then with a steady hand and a fine brush paint the gold links

hope this helps you

This will be my next build

I have started asembling the main parts and i will sort out the bodywork first i will get some picture up asap also i have stripped the frame of its crome with oven cleaner foam this is the fist time i have done this hope it dont mess up and i will paint it with aluminium paint and clear coat with a semi-gloss finish

i have made up most of the parts here all ready for undercoat once that has been done there is a base coat of silver to lay down the the blue and i will put a light coat of clear over it ready for decals frame has now been stripped of the crome and sprayed up aluminium

here are the decals finished all ready for a clear coat these decals are very tough the had lots of microsol spread over them to set them right but they turned out nice in the end
