I'm assuming you mean WWII era?...Tamiya has a set of russian infantry in 1/35 scale, tristar also has a set of a russian tank crew, i saw both kits at my LHS but didn't buy them so i'm not sure of the quality, but i would assume they're well molded...heres a pic of the tristar box art, hope it helps some

I really like Tamiya's WWII Russian figures.  There is good detail and lots of extras.  I have not built any of Dragon's Russian figures but the other ones that I have build are nice.  I want to try some of the other companies, Tristar, Zveda, etc..  But, I am worry about quality.

Miniart has some nice sets of Russian figures. Tristar's figures are very good and Dragon of course.

Masterbox from the Ukraine has a few sets.  I just got a couple Eastern Front series sets from eBay and upon inspection, they look to be comparable with the newer Tamiya figures as far as molding goes.  The details and equipment look really nice, too!  I can't wait to start work, but have a few other projects on the bench that need to be completed before I start another one.

The equipment looks pretty good--it is limited, but seems as though in reality the Russian soldiers were also limited as to equipment issued.

So far, the kits that I do have from Master Box do not have the PPSH submachine gun.  I have the "German Captives" kit (includes 1 Russian guard w/ a rifle, possibly the Mosin-Nagant with bayonet) and the Eastern Front Series "Hand-to-Hand Combat", which both Russians are fighting with helmet and entreching tool.  .

The Russian guard from the first kit has a molded on soft hat.  (I'm away from my model stash right now, so I'm working from memory....)  As I recall, he also has a separately molded backpack or breadbag satchel.  The two Russians from the second kit have separately molded breadbags, bayonets and e-tools (I can't remember if they have weapons, I will check when I get home and edit this post); and the helmets are hollowed out.  In my opinion, I think the weapons and equipment are on the same level of quality as most Dragon kits (not the 3rd Gen kits, however).

There is another Eastern Front Series kit that I want which includes about 5 (?) Russians in firing and charging poses.  If memory serves correctly, that kit may include at least one soldier with a PPSH, but I'm not for sure.

Hope this info helps and if you get one of these kits, hope they work for you!

Yeah, it looks like a really great kit and well crafted fight scene which portrays a really desperate struggle; I can't wait to start work on those figures!  It is the Master Box LTD Eastern Front Series Kit No. 3 "Hand-to-Hand Fight, 1941-1942" (kit #MB3524).

And just for information, the other Master Box kits that I have and/or mentioned are:

"German Captives, 1944" (kit #MB3517) and "German Panzergrenadiers (1939-1942)" (kit #MB3518).  Both of these look like really  good kits!  (So many models, so little time!)

Additionally, there are two other kits to the Eastern Front Series, I do not as of yet have them, they are: "German Infantry in Action, 1941-1942" (kit #MB3522) and "Soviet Infantry in Action, 1941-1942" (kit #MB3523).

Oh and by-the-way, according to the box art, kit #MB3523 DOES have a Soviet figure firing the PPSH!

Go to http://www.mbltd.info/models3.htm to see these kits.   Also, if you click on the Dioramas link, it will show a pretty neat diorama using all the Eastern Front series kits.
