Gamera

BTW George says that if Khan had a grove of bananas on Ceti Alpha III he might not have been so cranky when Captain Terrell and Chekov 'rescued' him...

Lol!

Oh, I remember that episode. I think it was called, The Trouble with Bananas.

Hey!  They can't blame Clapper for turning into Joe Pesci. Clapper has low blood sugar.

Thanks Bakster... Had a nightmare that Khan and Tatoo were leading the human rebel movement against George Clappers ape army...

I mean it's been used on a zillion SF movies and series from '2001' to 'Lost in Space' to 'Alien' but 'Space Seed' somehow sticks in my mind...

How could it not? Such a cool concept for a redoux. Bringing back a very popular episode from great show and including the guest star. Did they do that in any of the other movies? Maybe I am missing another one.

Sorry for the bad dream man!

Are you talking about Tattoo from The Love Boat? Holy smokes. That is TRULY terrifying. Surprise

I didn't think Clapper as a war lord but maybe he is? Maybe he is an ape asset posing as a harmless clapping ape? I wonder...

IMO, Montalban is what made the Khan series what it is. He was amazing in that role.  Which explains too why The Wrath of Khan is my favorite in the motion picture series.

In thinking about my favorte Star Trek episodes, The City on the Edge of Forever is my second on the list.

From Wikipedia

"In the episode, after a heavily medicated Doctor Leonard McCoy (DeForest Kelley) travels back in time and changes history, Captain Kirk (William Shatner) and Spock (Leonard Nimoy) follow him to correct the timeline. In doing so, Kirk falls in love with Edith Keeler (Joan Collins), but realizes that in order to save his future, he must allow her to die."

What are your favorites guys?

Greg

Gamera mentioned a few. There are probably others but I don't know.

Ummmm.... I think you mean " Fantasy Island";

But: Tatoo first appeared in the Jame's Bond film, " The Man with the Golden Gun"

That movie was the inspiration for Fantasy Island.

( dont ask me how I know these thing's ....... I'm sure television is to blame..... somehow ....)

Dont worry about the thumbprint, paint it Rust , and call it "Battle Damage"

What are your favorites guys?

Favorite Star Trek episode HAS to be "Amok Time" .  ( The one where Spock go's crazy and beat's Kirk to death .... sort-of. )

Also: I see you'r up to 38000 lost souls  watching this thread.

Hmmmmm..... What kind of prize do I give for this "milestone ....

"very" rare picture of a comic book I cannot afford to give you......

Or,It was this  "scratch-n-sniff" Dr. Zaus .....( he smell's like a "Damn dirty Ape"! )

Dont worry about the thumbprint, paint it Rust , and call it "Battle Damage"

Oh heck... you  are right about that. I didn't watch either of those shows, they blurred together. Thanks for the clarification. And now that you mentioned it, I remember that  Bond movie.

Yeah, that is a good episode!

Wow! Those are cool comic graphics. It's the first time I have seen those. You have a knack for finding stuff.

Thanks for the prize, Tim! I love it! That is right up there with the signed Charlton Heston poster...

Btw. That is an interesting take on the Icarus. Very similar to a resin kit offered a few years back. Not sure where they got that design but it's cool.

Montalban was amazing as Khan, I completely agree. He stepped back into the movie role so incredibly well.

I seem to remember reading long ago he was suffering from something chronically painful and debilitating, but performed through it.

City on the Edge of Forever was and is my all time favorite. It contained sci-fi, time travel, and messing with the past paradoxes, my favorite things.

Did you know that the closing line, 'Kirk' saying "Let's get the hell out of here" was reported as being the first [scripted] curse word ever on network TV?

Yeah. Come on, Bakster. Get with it. This is a serious thread, let's not be messing it up with amatuer mistakes like that!

But seriously, wasn't Tattoo on at least one Love Boat episode or am I dreaming?

How can you possibly say that? The Love Boat had way more bikinis.

Laughing my tail off. My deepest apologies to this serious thread. I don't know what came over me.

As to your Tattoo Love Boat question. I think you are right but I am not sure. That might be why I made the mistake. My Mom and sisters watched both shows, I could not stand either of them. I only know what I know about them by commercials or my passing through the room as they watched. Come on! Star Trek or Love Boat? What will a young teenage boy care to watch. Not the Love Boat, nor Fantasy Island. Lol.

OMG. Buddy. Your assertion requires that I close my eyes and ears to the gagging story lines. Now... if you want to talk about bikinis, lets talk Baywatch. Indifferent

Wow... all well said. You nailed why I love the episode. I also loved seeing Spock make a transmitter out of radio tubes. It's a classic!

I did not know that about the curse word. Very interesting!

Cool you posted the link. Yes

Again--not much to show. It was a bear miter cutting, fitting, and gluing the glass door framework. The latter was tough because the pieces kept moving on me and/or the glue leached where I didn't want it to go. Lots of redos. Hours later--the glass door trim is complete.

I decided to go with T shaped strips for the trim. If done right it should allow a snug fit into the chamber opening as well as a tight fit for the glass panels. My hope is that by going this route I'll be able to minimize glue creep; thus, minimizing fouled up glass.

The frames are loosely installed. I will glue them in after paint.

From here I will probably begin mounting the chambers to each other and make the end walls.

Now, for TOS, The Trouble Wit hTribbles is right up there (and the tie-in DS9 episode as well).

I have to admit to a fondness for the Harlan Ellison written shows.

Mind, I'm watching the opening of the thrid season of Westworld . . .

I am. I'm not much of a fan for remakes, always been a stickler for everything remaining the same. But as I get older, I find myself enjoying the attempts more, just becuase it's fun to revisit the original, or something like that. I have the most trouble dealing with the new characters.

Yes, I'm getting a bit of a kick out of the new Lost in Space. I really disliked the new Dr Smith (Parker Posey) at the beginning, but she's really grown on me, and I sort of love hating her, just like the original.
