Revell of Germany is releasing a new mold 1:144 scale early Flower corvette as the HMCS Snowberry.

RoG Snowberry

The new release was announced at the Nuremburg Toy Fair in February.  It is supposed to be available next month.

Jester's desired 1:350 scale DE is more than fulfilled by the Trumpeter USS England.    Also, see if you can find the PitRoad version with changes to make a Cannon class DE.   These Cannons were transferred to be part of the JMSDF.

(PitRoad & Trumpeter have a cooperative agreement.   PitRoad designs the 1:700 kits and has first option on sales under their label in the Orient.   Trumpeter has the option in the West.   They have cooperated on some larger projects with similar arrangements.)

The Snowberry in 1/144 by RoG sounds fantastic! I had not heard of that one. I have looked into the England but have heard absolutely terrible things about it with regards to accuracy.

*EDIT* I think I am confusing the DE with the Tribals that Trump released.

I would love to see a decent 1/350 square-bridge Fletcher class DD, FRAM DD's from the 1960's, and a 1/350 Charles Adams class DD.

I still say a 1/200 scale carrier. One of the latest ones, Regan, Bush etc. Yes I know it's big , but wow what a conversation piece. And can you say super detail !

I'd like to see more WW1 stuff, especially torpedo boat destroyers and light cruisers.

I'd like more civil subjects and small craft.

New or even repops of small scale sailing warships.

We need a Langley and a Wolverine!

Blue Ridge/Freetime is coming out with a 1:700 scale Sable/Wolverine.  Release got delayed because the master was dropped and broken.   Hop on the order fast because it is going to be a limited run release.

Loose Cannon makes a 1:700 scale Langley.

Like it or not,  both of these subjects are PE intensive.    The girder-work cannot be effectively replicated by cast/injected means.    3D printing is possible but would be an expensive cost driver

Any 1/700 liners. Aoshima has released a 1/700 Ark Royal and Wasp with the submarines that sank them. How about a Lusitania and U-20?

1/700 HMS Lion.

1/350 or 1/144 WWI U-boat.

All in injection molded styrene - so people like me can afford them.

New Coast Guard stuff.

As far as kits already produced...the Dragon 1/350 Scharnhorst.

Amen to Modelcrazy. Starting with a 1/700 or 1/350 Treasury-class cutter. (Preferably in three versions: prewar white and buff with seaplane, wartime camouflaged convoy escort, and postwar white.)

Great idea...but I'd say in 1/350th, with a replication of all of the hidden guns, torps, planes, etc...

AWESOME subject matter!!!

I think a 144 scale s boat would be great in any configuration. Yeah the 72nd is a very cherry kit but the 72nd still scales out to a foot and a half which is still kinda big. I can't wait to see some reviews on that corvette!

Just saw this listed on the US Naval Institute's clear-the-decks book sale list.    May have to spring for it.

I'm not opposed to scratchbuilding my own.

And of course Lyon's 'First Destroyers'  has a complete set of plans for the HMS Velox included.     3D printed detail parts are now available via Shapeways for the Velox

I agree about the need for much PE.  That is the reason I have not scratched either of them.  I did buy one of those PE-making kits from Micro Mark, but it is a lot of work making that stuff.

Aoshima covered one of my long-time wish-list kits, with their release of the Wasp in 1/700.  I got the kit, and it's not bad, par for the course for the Waterline Series.  The aircraft are the weakest part of the kit, but I'll replace them with Trumpeter aircraft, anyway.  Aoshima issued two boxings, one kitted with the I-19 at the time of her demise, and another one depicting her during her Atlantic/Mediterranean service, with a fret of Spitfires.

And Blue Ridge Hobbies is bringing out a resin Wolverine in 1/700.  Now if someone would bring out the Langley and the Ranger in 1/700, preferably injection-molded, my list would be complete.

The bigger the government, the smaller the citizen.

Agree on the Wasp...haven't bought one yet cause the boxing w/ the Jap sub is hard to find, but I have seen the moldings and I think your description of 'adequate' is about right---in fact I might call them a slight dissapointment or underwhelming...but I am glad to have it available...

I want a 1/350 birdcage mast USS Arizona or other BB in a styrene/mixed media kit. Presumably the masts would have to be photoetch.

After a couple of years of screaming we got a CV-6: it may be a bad one, so watch out about gettig what you wish for. But there is one obvious hole in the historical wall for a WWII warship: 1/350 USS Washington, dressed for the dance of February 1942. How many WWII battleships sunk enemy battleships in a group action? Not many really. How many WWII BBs sunk an enemy BB on their own? We've got Bismarck - a kit that we probably have enough of. (Especially when you think of how badly botched the entire operation was - It was like the German Navy spent the first two years of WWII helping Churchill's stading with his own people.) But look gents, the Guadalcanal Battle was a history with a captial H and Lee's ability to annihilate Kurishima at warp speed at night is most impressive. (Let's not forget that barring Fuso, Japanese capital ships didn't blow up after one hit.) And it was important - after Iron Bottom Sound (whch Washington capped off) it was down hill (or almost so) for Combined Fleet in the PTO. So the USN's Bismarck has not available in 1/350 styrene. Impossible. Unthinkable. We've got KGV, Rodney, NC, Alabama, Tirpitz (what a dog) and even a Yamato - uber-dog. Someone must do this right - and hope they don't mess up the hull.

A model boat is much cheaper than a real one and won't sink with you in it.

Agree...Washinton vs Kirishima was the only (equal) BB vs BB encounter of the entire war for the US, and arguably for the entire war...yet for some reason it gets buried under Bismarck and Yamato folklore....
