Tanker - Builder

Nino;

Knowing some retired Admirals I have to wonder . How long did it take to come up with that great tongue in cheek Homily about why we call ships " She " . T.B.

Those final comments about "she" duty and the Ships "Bell(e) could easily cause a man some grief in this day and age.  But they are precious and gives us all pause for reflection.

Would that I could write so well and with such thought and imagery...

Great job Surfsup,  museum quality work there. I will archive this thread for reference for my Tirpitz. Yes two totally different ships of the same class but your work is outstanding.

Thanks for your comments my. If my Build can help you in any way then I will be just as happy.....Cheers mark

Would love to see your tutorial on rigging, especially what looks like the knots in the middle spans. I’m also wondering about the order in which you did them. Bismark is close to coming off my shelf onto my bench.

Thanks my Friend. With Rigging I always work from inside to outside. That way I am not going to damage any Rigging already completed. For the Tie Knots I always add a dab od Superglue and then paint them metallic Greay to match the clour of the E-Z-Line that I am using......Cheers mark

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

... Just a quick update. Her Work Boats and Catapault are now located onboard. More to come soon.....Cheers Mark.

 Two things...

Your Canon PowerShot is doing a remakably good job and thank you for these High-def Pictures.

The ships boats are superb. The colors create interest & are a good contrast with the Rest of the ship.

I think the Germans refered to their ships as Male rather than our way of using  a female pronoun as a reference.  Looks like using Gender as a description is going to change. Our Coast Guard has already discontinued the Female reference for their ships.  Everything will be IT.Crying

Okay, that's three things, but whose counting. This is Fantastic work.

I love reviewing these posts and Pics.

P.S.  A quote from By Rear Admiral Francis D. Foley, U.S. Navy (Retired), Naval History, December 1998:   (There's a few good Homonyms, double entendre's & Puns in there.)

Thanks for your comments my Friend. Kapitan Ernst Lindemann C.O. of the Bismarck called his Command a He as he said the Power The Bismarck had was incredible and did not deserve to be referred as SHE.

That is great work. I'm saving this for when I start my model. I don't have as much PE as you do but might order some later.

Very nice work indeed.

Thanks for showing such great detail on the Aft Superstructure.  Now I know how to model the 2 uncovered range-finders.

Hirnsausen

Looks very good so far. Will you apply some weathering (darkening all edges slightly, and maybe some dirt or corrosion)?

Thanks for the comments and yes I will and have started doing some weathering. The main Structures of the Ship are now onboard. More to come soon.....Cheers Mark
