what an awesome display! A real conversation starter for sure.
In the pattern: Scale Shipyard's 1/48 Balao Class Sub! leaning out the list...NOT! Ha, added to it again - Viper MkVii, 1/32 THUD & F-15J plus a weekend madness build!
sorry for the late response TB , it's the robert e lee , you were a great help on this build to me . I have no email notification now , haven't had for a while . I have been busy on my viking ship , and fighting a bad back .
Thanks. On submarines, we had Trash Disposal Units, or TDUs.

Hi Bill;
To give a general American answer it's the Trash Bin-Dumpster style. Remember, outside the Good Ole U.S.of A. they are described by how they are emptied! So it's a " Tip"
Steve,
I apologize but I just saw this build log! Great job!!! By the way, what is "The Tip?"
Ah!
The TIP! Wonderful place, that, sometimes! Last time I hit one was at a mall. It was full of useable Lexan for cases! Time before Ugh!
You have done her proud! Oh, Before I forget, and no disrespect to the just finished ship, BUT, what riverboat is that on the Bottom right? I scratchbuild those in H.O. ( 1/87) scale to use up plastic and P.E.Leftovers!
Hi, Steve, I've just found this thread and read through it - what a treat! An excellent build, superb PE work (I'm scared of the stuff, myself!), and beautifully painted and presented. I have a part-built KGV in 1/350, hiding in its box at the back of the stash. Hmmmm...
Nice tip find, too, by the way
Vell, Zaphod's just zis guy, you know?

Outstanding work and well displayed Steve!

thanks steve , mongoose . I appreciate the comments . I am making a board for it now , it wont be a flash one , but serviceable , I still really don't know what I am going to do with it .
If you weren't an ace at photo ask before you sure are now. This is looking really great. How close are you to coming down the homestretch with it?
Look at that beast. It looks awesome. Nice work Steve.
all guns , masts , boats are on .
dum dum me forgot to add the access stairs
these still need the rails mended
cheers steve, not much I can do about it though ,
got a bit more detail done , all the railings are on , adding the boats and planes . the plane ramps have to be painted .
Hey Steve, sorry to hear about your order problems. Frustrating to wait that long.
Nice work Sir. I like it.
I've had to end up using the generic kit supplied railing , 4 months is long enough to wait in anyone's language , I'll never buy pontos again .
this is where I am up too .
still got stuff to do , boats , weathering etc . the rails are a bit wobbly , but I'm getting better .
my main hassel now knox , is when I ordered the PE for it , it all arrived except the main sheet of railing , it took 2 months for pontos to send the replacement parts , jan 2nd , still waiting . it was ordered through BNa model world . as I said still waiting .
I would so love to see this in person.
forgot this little bloke , didn't worry about decals here , as the back end will be in the hanger .
hey steve , nice to know your still looking in , mate .
cheers mongoose , don't know what I'm going to do with it though . I live in a cottage style house .
painted the planes , now for the boats .
Hey Steve, top notch work. I love what you have done on this.
Steve that's going to be a beautiful display piece!
put what i had together for a look , getting there .
thats the boats done , not looking forward to painting though , the boat 2nd from the left , the framework just disintergrated , found a fret from the arizona 1/350 , was something like it , you shouldn't see the difference from any sort of distance .
thankyou TB , coming from you means a lot .
cheers GM , got a free sample on kindle , about 20 pages , very interesting read . he didn't like hitler at all .
knox , thankyou for the nice words mate . unfortunately 1 of the frames disintergrated , trying to jerry rig something up , out of unused PE from other sets .
I know it’s easy to throw superlatives around, but seriously, this is epic!
