Some of these GB's seem to be fading away unfortunately. I don't think we have as many GB addicts as we used to. Hopefull;y we can give GB's a shot in the arm and get some more of the new members hooked.

Heya Bish. I think the GBs that are fading out need to be freshened up a bit with a slightly different theme and new beginning and end dates (officially that is). Would be great to have some new ones out there. Not to worry too much. As soon as mine has ended I'll start another one (I'll be sure to keep at one ONLY).

In the time i have been here, theres always been GB's that really hit it off and others that just fade away. The thing with FSM is that the GB's are run by the members as and when they feel like it. I think this is much better than the sterile way of having only one GB at a time and only the one voted by the members. This means the less popular subjects get over looked. But it also means sometimes there can be to many for people to commit to.

I think the two biggest problems are GB's that are to long and GB';s where the host just goes AWOL for waht ever reason. But i am sure we can give them a shot in the arm.

I just started with an Airacobra in the 1943 group build (sadly, some things went terribly wrong). If you want, you can check it out, but its just embarrassing how I was able to screw it up that much. I have to save the model at any cost, because I just dont want my first project on this site to fail that badly. I think I can just hide some of the mistakes, but I dont know whith what I should do that.

Maybe a more creative person, like you are, could help me out on this. I already have / will ask the pros I know by name for help...

My name is Sergei. To many it’s easier to call me Sergio, so whatever you prefer is OK.

I’d like to say I noticed we have a couple of things in common. First of all, I am from Russia, so excuse my English skills. And I’m just starting with the hobby, just starting really. I am an artist with many years of experience, and along with paintings and drawings I make various objects and installations. When things constructed I paint them without imitating real colors; I may make everything just grey, or do it like an old bronze, so this is a sculptor’s approach. Now I’m contemplating to build some scale model vehicle, a war time truck for instance. I believe that scale models may help many to know and understand the past events better, and respect history and people who lived before us.

I find beautiful builds here on the site, I admire the skills very much, it’s inspiring.

I am looking to viewing your creations.

Thank you very much, but my problem is I can't even get 1 picture in my signature.

and then we have goofs like bish and i who are in 6 or 7 GBs simultaneously plus our other builds.

i have one file in photoshop with all my GB badges. as i get a new one i open it, scale it down, add it to the multiple GB badges, save it as a new file and chnage the file in the signature. that way i am only loading 1 file.

O, i forgot, i am not sure if it helps, but i also shrink my GB badge images to no more than 160 pixels. I am not sure if that makes a difference to the number of charecters, but worth a try.

I don't understand it either. A while back i went to change my sig. It didn't allow it so i went to pout it back to how it was, but it said that was to big as well. I think its to do with the charecters in the pic, computers ain't really my thing.

I take it your useing Photobucket as your host. Instead of useing the direct link code and putting that into the insert image box, on PB use the IMG codes and add that link direct to the page. I find that make the charecters less. The sig i have now i couldn't do the other way.

I have some problems with my signature, if someone can help me...

It hasn't got more than 300 characters, but when i want to add the badge for the 1943 GB, it says "Maximum Signature length is 512 characters"

I am already hooked, Bish

I have seen the Jug group build, but I think it has already ended.

Nevermind, I have found enough GBs to throw my jug models in.

I have one lying around ready for the "Forces of nature" GB (I just have to decide on the decals) and I have already ordered the big Hasegawa one at my local hobby store (with lots of aftermarket goodies) for the "Ground attack" GB. Unfortunately it will take about a month or two to arrive.
