Daddyman

Hi, Jeff

Since your in SE Kentucky hopefully we'll see you at some shows up here in Ohio. Maybe at the IPMS Nationals in Chattanooga in August. You don't have to go for the whole show but you wouldn't see everything if you don't.

You'll find all kinds of help learning to post pictures in the tech assist forum. There are several sites to choose from for hosting and with the help on these forums you'll be posting in no time. I think got it down in about 3 or 4 trys. Like very thing else, just practice, practice, practice. And don't be afraid to ask, we've all been there.

Thank you for the information on the August show. It's not to far from my home so the wife and I will make a weekend of it.

Jeff

Welcome to the forums! Getting ready to retire and you only have 5 kits, you are seriously lagging behind. I am sure you will catch up pretty quick if you keep attending all those model shows though.

Hello Stephen,

And thank you for the welcome. I have a lot more than 5 kits LOL. I have spent the last 5 years aquiring kits from shows, hobby stores and online. I have enough kits to keep me busy for a decade or two LOL. Again, thank you for welcoming me aboard, and I look forward to seeing some of your builds.

The Drifter

Hello,

My name is Jeff, and I am from the Southeast area of Kentucky. I am 3 years away from retiring and I have been a huge fan and supporter of scale modeling. I have NEVER built a model, but have attended 6 shows over a 4 year period. I wanted to get started along time ago but never had the time to devote myself without having to stop and restart over and over. I'm sure all of you have encountered that.

A breif bio: I have been married to my very best friend, and lovely wife for 33 years. We have 2 children (Both of whom are married and have careers).I did a 4 year tour in the Army(11B). I have been a Lineman Supervisor for the electrical company for 31 years as of Dec. '18 and have enjoyed it. I enjoy the outdoors, cooking, military and world history, DIY and of coarse scale modeling. I have spent the last 5 years aquiring all of my supplies and kits. I plan on building a few kits prior to getting into what drew me into scale modeling...Dioramas!

I look forward to getting to know all of you, and I have been trolling the forums for the past few months so I have an idea of where to post my questions.

Best regards,

Jeff

Welcome fellow Kentuckian! I'm from Northern Kentucky and just joined up here a month or two ago. I have always had a keen interest in models of all types and did modeling at a young age. Well, 'modeling' consisting of gluing the pieces together and considering it a victory if I could get one or two decals looking ok on it, haha

I did find a 'fix' for me on the start and stop part, thanks to the magic of plastics! I have all of my tools in a nice plastic bin and keep the model in two plastic bins, one for the raw/larger pieces and one for the small pieces I've cut off the sprues and cleaned up.

I found a little Shrimp Boat at Ollie's (dicsount store) for $11.00 - after another $150.00 in paints, tools, bins, brushes, etc, etc - I was ready to start! I then put it off for 3 months and just recently started working on it. Now I'm getting obsessed!

Hello OC451,

Thank you for welcoming me, and it's great too see a fellow Kentuckian on here. The only reason I have waited so long to get started was because I wanted to be able to sit down and enjoy each build from start to finish without having to put it to the side and come back to it later on.

I should be posting my first build here shortly in the near future. Thank you again for welcoming me, and Go Big Blue!!

Jeff
