And I think it depends on the situation if the Bussard Collectors light up or not - if you're cruising at Warp 5.1495 on a Thursday they do light up - otherwise no... 

Hair-like feathers, but they look like a wet cat when you apply the mustache wax!  :-)

Stik, IIRC, the Proton Torpedoes were carried internally - there are troughs in the lower fuselage sides for the launchers. I think he meant hanging weps under the wings ;)

PS: If we're talking about the Enterprise in TOS, (NCC-1701, no bl**dy A,B,C or D), depending on the time period and what shots you look at in the show, she could have had illuminated Bussard collectors. Certainly they weren't there at the start, but the 11 foot model was retrofitted with lights in the nacelle caps which rotated by way of a motor and slip-ring system. This can be seen in some episodes. Other shots were done with a 3-foot model which had solid (unlit) nacelle caps, so either can apply.

Yes, but they're inside the Krupx MG7 torpedo launchers located under the cockpit inside the fuselage with a standard load of three torpedoes each, not slung under the wings. Of course, you can replace the proton torpedoes with concussion missiles, but they don't have the same oomph. Putting missiles under the wing's wouldn't be canon. Besides, the Incom T-65 has plenty of armament on the wings with four Taim & Bak KX9 laser cannons, which are canon, and thus Aaron's point, curse him.

I know guys... just stirring the pot....

I did not even mention photon torpedoes or the Romulan's plasma weapon from "Balance of Terror"... Or V'ger's plasma weapon...

"Propulsion unknown... guidance unknown..."

But the X Wing does carry missiles of a sort... internally...

We are talking about the TOS Enterprise. I'm definitely lighting the Bussard collectors on Polar Lights new kit (using PL's lighting set). The question of canon came up in relation to the vents mounted on the inside edge of the warp nacelles. PL gives you the option to light them because that was originally the plan but was omitted on the filming miniature to save costs. I am not going to light those or the impulse engines, also an option on the model, because I was aiming to be accurate to the 11' model as seen today at the Air and Space Museum.

LOL Tim, No not dissing the "A" That was a quote from Scotty in the TNG episode "Relics" - He's on Holodeck of the Enterprise-D and asks the computer to show him the bridge of "his" Enterprise. The computer replies "There have been five Federation ships with that name. Please specify by registry number." to which Scotty replies N-C-C-1-7-0-1. No bl**dy A - B - C - or D!.

PS: The intercooler vents are another thing again - These are on the inside face of the pylons
