YOUSE GUYS , YOUSE GUYS .

I have been watching all this from under the invisibility cloak I borrowed from that nice kid , Hmm Was his name HARRY ? I think we have to light up everything ! Just think of all the nice new nightlights we old folks would have .That would look good in the nursing home hallway on or near the ceiling .Where did I put my walker anyway (nope don't mean SKYWALKER )

Success! After dropping a Bangalore torpedo over Tim's hastily assembled razor-wire barricade, followed by a couple of flashbangs to stun him, I sprayed the room with paint to reveal the location of the kit. If anybody wants me, I'm in the corner drooling over the 1/6 scale Cylon Centurion.

And Tim: I've booby-trapped the hallway so don't even think about launching a counterattack.

<unspools razor wire around desk> Hey Karl, sorry but it looks like we've lost that info.

<throws Cohen fractal cloak over boxes> And the kits seemed to have disappeared, too. Never mind the razor wire. It's for research purposes only.

WHOA! Just got two big boxes full of models from Moebius! Gotta look inside! <sneaks away without telling Aaron>

Oh, they forwarded them to the FSM offices? They were destined for my house, Tim; you guys have my address--ask Monica, and just ship them out tomorrow, ok? I'll be watching for them, Wink

Aaron and I are shooting a series of new videos about photoetched-metal parts this morning. He gets to play with fire and I get to worry about his playing with fire.

Fire pretty. So pretty.

LOL Tim, No not dissing the "A" That was a quote from Scotty in the TNG episode "Relics" - He's on Holodeck of the Enterprise-D and asks the computer to show him the bridge of "his" Enterprise. The computer replies "There have been five Federation ships with that name. Please specify by registry number." to which Scotty replies N-C-C-1-7-0-1. No bl**dy A - B - C - or D!.

I should have known!

We are talking about the TOS Enterprise. I'm definitely lighting the Bussard collectors on Polar Lights new kit (using PL's lighting set). The question of canon came up in relation to the vents mounted on the inside edge of the warp nacelles.

Ahh, I see, you're talking about the warp field emitters. Indeed, they were not lit. Smile

Tim Kidwell
My God, Phil. What have you done? You dissed the A.

And Aaron is lighting the Bussard collectors. It's the intercoolers he's crabbing about.

PS: The intercooler vents are another thing again - These are on the inside face of the pylons Wink

PS: If we're talking about the Enterprise in TOS, (NCC-1701, no bl**dy A,B,C or D), depending on the time period and what shots you look at in the show, she could have had illuminated Bussard collectors.

Of course the Y-Wing is still my preferred fighter

Stik,
The Y looks cool, but for sheer hitting power, I prefer the B-wing.

PS: If we're talking about the Enterprise in TOS, (NCC-1701, no bl**dy A,B,C or D), depending on the time period and what shots you look at in the show, she could have had illuminated Bussard collectors. Certainly they weren't there at the start, but the 11 foot model was retrofitted with lights in the nacelle caps which rotated by way of a motor and slip-ring system. This can be seen in some episodes. Other shots were done with a 3-foot model which had solid (unlit) nacelle caps, so either can apply.

We are talking about the TOS Enterprise. I'm definitely lighting the Bussard collectors on Polar Lights new kit (using PL's lighting set). The question of canon came up in relation to the vents mounted on the inside edge of the warp nacelles. PL gives you the option to light them because that was originally the plan but was omitted on the filming miniature to save costs. I am not going to light those or the impulse engines, also an option on the model, because I was aiming to be accurate to the 11' model as seen today at the Air and Space Museum.

I know guys... just stirring the pot....Wink

I did not even mention photon torpedoes or the Romulan's plasma weapon from "Balance of Terror"... Or V'ger's plasma weapon...Hmm

"Propulsion unknown... guidance unknown..."

But the X Wing does carry missiles of a sort... internally...Geeked

Of course the Y-Wing is still my preferred fighter

Yes, but they're inside the Krupx MG7 torpedo launchers located under the cockpit inside the fuselage with a standard load of three torpedoes each, not slung under the wings. Of course, you can replace the proton torpedoes with concussion missiles, but they don't have the same oomph. Putting missiles under the wing's wouldn't be canon. Besides, the Incom T-65 has plenty of armament on the wings with four Taim & Bak KX9 laser cannons, which are canon, and thus Aaron's point, curse him.

Tim [rolls eyes]: But it will be cool.

Aaron: It's not canon. That would be like putting missiles on an X-wing.

Tim: Now that's just silly and stupid.

But the proton torpedoes sure behave like missiles instead of a beam type weapon....Hmm at least in the original...

Stik, IIRC, the Proton Torpedoes were carried internally - there are troughs in the lower fuselage sides for the launchers. I think he meant hanging weps under the wings ;)

That's why this thing looks so nasty! <pulls off fake mustache> Serves me right, buying villain accoutrements from the bargain bin at Evil Guys R Us.

Your maniacal plan to build a droid army of blenders has been foiled!

Um, don't emus have feathers instead of hair?

Indeed. And this would be why I'm building the Enterprise (without intercoolers lit), and why Tim isn't.

Thanks Gene, saw one at a zoo last fall but I really didn't want to get too close to a critter that could disembowel me with one kick to look too closely...

Um, don't emus have feathers instead of hair?

And I think it depends on the situation if the Bussard Collectors light up or not - if you're cruising at Warp 5.1495 on a Thursday they do light up - otherwise no...
