Hello Steve -

Thank you friend, and I was completely surprised with Jill getting me two of those kits. She also sneaked and looked at the "saved folder" on my computer and got me three planes I wanted. I just got lucky...Give it another year and she'll be asking me why I'm buying a kit when I have some at my workbench. That's when I'll know the honeymoon is over. Crying

Cathy refuses to buy me anything model related, being worried she will get me something I wouldn't like. WHAAA? Something I wouldn’t like? I will tell her what I want, within reason, and she will usually give me the money for it. Usually she just gets me gift cards and I go shopping. Sometimes I wish she would surprise me.
Great score Hunter, you are really starting the stash right.
Steve

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Hey happy belated birthday Hunter!!! Nice haul there, I got a few models for my birthdays but most of them I bought for myself!

And Fox, that's devious, dishonest, and very clever... I love it!

Gamera -

Thank you very much. I was amazed by the wonderful selection I received. I thought it was a rule on your birthday to buy yourself gifts!! Big Smile

Hunter,

If you didn't like armour modeling before your birthday, apparently you will now!  As for birthdays...we have to grow old but we don't have to grow up.  My wife has one adult child.  I'll be 55 in a few months.

Good luck on those builds.  I've only ever built two tanks and they were both Tamiya Tigers.  Pour glue in the box.  Shake.  Presto!  Instant Tiger.  Have fun.

Mike

p.s. - Patrick...nice!  My wife gives her mother a large puzzle for Christmas every year but doesn't give her the box so she has no idea what the picture is.  One year it was a 1,000 piece New Yprk Times crossword puzzle, clues included (so you could do the crossword after, if you wished!).  A couple of years later, it was a 5,000 piece ashtray full of ashes and cigarette butts.

Murph -

Thank you sir, and it's funny what you said about the Tamiya kit. They make a very friendly, well design and great kits. They are great for the beginner to intermediate modeler. Both my grandmother's would of loved the New York Crossword puzzle. The two of them loved doing large high piece count puzzles.

Chris -

Thank you, and yes it was. Had a great night with the wife and friends. Thank you for the thoughtful idea on sending me your model, but I hope you can resolve the issue.

First off, "Happy Belated Birthday"!  Second, that is one wonderful stash you got there.  Third, no matter what was received, as you mentioned,  it's always, always friends and family members that make the day special.  Not just on these days but throughout life.

I have made the Academy Abrams and the Tamiya Bulldog.  If you have questions on them LMK, I'd be happy to assist you in anyway possible.

Toshi

Toshi -

Thank you very much Toshi. I will definitely reach out to you when the time comes for these two builds. I know I will learn a few tips and tricks from you. Thank you again sir.

Hunter and Patrick, here's a little hint that you didn't hear from me.  If you go to contests,  always buy raffle tickets.  If your numbers don't win, don't throw away the tickets.  Whatever you buy at the contest, put one of the tickets in it and you can say you got lucky.  We do it all the time. Wink

HAHAHAHA!!!! Hey - that's no fun!! Unless you're planning to fool someone. Wink

Hey Hunter - I'm sorry I missed your birthday. I hope it was a happy one. I have a model (Flakpanzer Gepard) that I'd let you have if only I didn't still need it to recast.  I need silicone rubber for recasting the tank body. I only bought this from a guy on ebay so that I could use it for the end of the fuselage on the four foot beast. This is what the ILM guys used for theirs when they built it for Jedi.   They cut this in almost in half so that it would have the basic proportion of the original 19" 1/2 ILM models of A New Hope. They used the actual model part, but I just didn't have the heart to destroy it! As soon as I get the rubber to recast it, then I won't need it any more.  I fugured that recasting this will save it from destruction, and it can still be either collected, or built as intended.

Happiest of birthdays to you Hunterr. Nice haul indeed. The Monogram Pz IV was my very first armor build some 40 plus years ago. I built almost all the Pz Iv variants. Good kit to break your teeth on.

Hello Tigerman -

Thank you, and I am looking forward to building the Panzer. I plan on building it after the Nashorn.

Hello Patrick -

Yeah Jill is a gem...If I'm not careful she will be completing my builds while I'm at work or expanding my bench so she can have her own builds.(LOL)

Sorry too hear you got sent to the dog house for adding to your stash, next time bring home something she likes to soften the blow of 2 or 3 new kits Big Smile

Hope you are well,

Hunter

Good suggestion, Hunter, Karon likes puzzles so I just bought her one, 10,000 pieces.

It's a wheat field.

Hope she likes it.

Friend Hunter -

WOWZZA, hot dang, you fell into a pile of plastic and came up smelling like styrene. That stash will keep you busy for at least a weekend.

You married well, lad, struck gold when you found her. Mine is understanding about my hobby, (or at least tolerant,) but Thursday I caught heck for coming home with yet another Squadron book and two new kits, 140+ in the stash. Had to take dog for unusually long walk, actually should have gone longer as it turned out. (Joke.)

I'm very pleased that you have taken up the hobby in earnest, Dad Jeff would be pleased to see your accomplishments. Glad to see your WIP posts, great looking work.

Nice going, you are going to have to have birthdays more often, like every six months or so.

LOL GH -

That would be all right with me if I could pull it offBig Smile I am grateful for everyone in my life and I really had a great time last night sitting around my dinner table with all my friends and my misses.

PLEASE post photos of your two builds, I would love too see them. Thank you again GH and I hope you are well.
