Agreed, the Patriots stole the win away from the Falcons. They just ran out of gas, 31 unanswered points and the win goes to the experienced team. By the overtime period, Atlanta had a hard time stopping anything. It took a face guarding pass interference by the Falcons to stop them from winning it the previous set of downs.

I'm a Redskins fan but I live in New England.  I wasn't routing for either team but was hoping for a good game. Man did that ever happen. What a finish.  You can love or hate Bill and Tom but they are one of if not the greatest coach and QB to play this great game.

Rooting for the Falcons!

First, being as I'm a die hard Denver Bronco fan, New England has become one of our arch rivals. The NFL has seen fit to schedule these 2 to play eachother in the regular season over the past few years. And then you have the playoffs. Hence, no love for the Patriots.

Second, my mother is from Georgia and my 3 brothers were born there. So, we have family ties to the Falcons. Although, my entire family are die hard Bronco fans.

By the way Toshi, yes, I am a big NFL fan as well as NBA.

Enjoy the game everyone!

The NFL does not purposely schedule them to play each other. There is a schedule rotation so that every four years you play every other team in the NFL and every three years you play every team in your own conference. Based on this rotation, every team already knows 14 of the 16 games they will play every year in the future, or until the rotation formula changes. Currently, each teams plays six games against the other teams in their division (three home and three away), all four teams of a division in your conference (a scheduled rotation), and all four teams in a division in the other conference. That's why it takes four years to play every team in the league.

The only two games that are unknown and vary are based what position in your division you ended up last year. This means that the first place teams play the other first place teams, the second place teams play the other second place teams, third to third and fourth to fourth.

So, basically, every year the Broncos win the AFC West and the Patriots win the AFC East, they will play one another. Next year, the entire AFC West will play the AFC East, but if it wasn't for the schedule rotation, the Patriots would play the Chiefs since they won the West. It was the same reason the Patriots always played Manning's Colts, both teams won their respective divisions and we got some pretty good Brady-Manning bowls.

This link will show the Patriots' schedule for the next several years, except for the two games that are determined by team placement. http://www.pslsource.com/new_england_patriots_future_schedule_of_opponents

I don't really follow the NFL but I'd kind of like to see Atlanta dethrone the Patriots.  In the end, it really doesn't matter to me who wins.

Being from Dallas I would love to have seen the Cowboys go all the way this year, but since that couldn't happen, I'm going to put my support behind the Falcons.   However, my goal for tomorrow night will be to get my fill of beer and brats!BeerBig Smile

I'm with Denny...the Dolphins aren't in it, so really doesn't matter.  But........I'm leaning towards the Falcons.  It will be one of those games I can watch for the game and not have to worry about my team doing well.  LOL!  Besides...admit it...we all watch it for the commercials!  LOL!  This years halftime show doesn't look promising.  Sorry if you are a fan of theirs, but it just doesn't do a thing for me.  When will they ask AC/DC or Iron Maiden to play the halftime show?!?!? Nobody... my team is not in it, and I'm going out of town to someplace tropical to relax and enjoy...

I'm in NY, but went to Montreal for a lot of SBs in the 90s so I wouldn't be in the country when Dallas was playing. Not that I needed an excuse to get to Montreal, I've seen over a hundred game at the Forum. SB weekend was special, they'd play two matinee games on Sat/Sun.

I was born a Giant fan, was a season ticket holder until Wellington passed. That said, I know one thing about this SB, Brady is happy he's not seeing Eli on the other sideline...

Being a Giant fan you'd think I'd be behind Billy boy, he was amazing when he was our D coordinator (I hated Parcells), hate the Jets, etc, but after Tom Terrific laughed at Burress saying they'd be held to 17 points (they were) and BB ran off the field without shaking hands with Coughlin, I've got no use for them, let alone all the hijinks since then.

Not a Falcon fan either, but they're due.

I'm tired of Kraft and Co.

This year I'm not even really looking forward to it, no parties planned (yet). Maybe because they were few good games this year, the playoffs sucked, too much exposure and not enough product. The thing that made the NFL great was you could just check in at 1 or 4 PM on Sunday and 9 on Monday. Now it's Thursday, Sunday UK game, Sunday through midnight and one or two on Monday with Saturday games late in the year.

Remember how special it was when the first playoff games were on a Saturday?

Sounds like the best way to spend your time during the Super Bowl. Have a great trip Stik!

Now to answer your question....since the Falcons beat my Seahawks I will be pulling for the Falcons.

I don't.  That's why the DVD was invented.

I have only seen two complete football games in my life, both in high school, and one of those was becaue I was there with the local volunteer rescue squad, just in case.

To be honest, back in the day, I was a Belechick fan. I think I was the only person in Ohio who thought it was a good thing to bench Bernie Kosar. Almost came to blows with a few diehard  Browns' fans. But the hate for Belechick is nothing compared to Art Modell.

That's what I thought because he was good for the browns,if Modell didn't move and fire him,he might have won one for them.

Even speaking about Modell makes my blood boil...And I wasn't a huge Browns/NFL fan. He should of sold the team....8 years later he sold the Ravens! See you are a Raider Fan from Jersey. I did like watching the 70s-80s teams. Glad to see there relocation plans are hitting some roadblocks. I HATE when teams leave cities, conferences, from the pros to HS.

I live 20 miles from Gillette.  I was a Pats fan when they played at Fenway. No need to say more.  We do our talking on the field.

Since the Lions haven't made it to the Superbowl for the 51st straight years, I'll give my nod to the Pat's since Brady graduated from UofM. Yeah, I know, a far stretch!

In all fairness, I'd just like to see a good game no matter who wins.

For as much as I love college football, I equally despise the NFL. Never watched the NFL growing up and since I hate the color orange, who would I root for in Ohio. The NFL to me has become boring and predictable. TOO MANY PENALTIES! But I will still watch the game, mostly for the commercials and Lady Gagas halftime show(Wardrobe malfunction?) Will be kind of rooting for the Falcons. Being from Ohio, I guess I have to wish nothing but ill towards Belichick. Just 3 months 'til baseball! Go Tribe!

Curious why does someone from Ohio hate Belichick ?

Many of today's NFL penalties are for player safety. Other than the routine false starts, offsides and holding calls, the increase is due to various penalties added to prevent injury. Ones added to protect the passer, defenseless receiver, horsecollar tackles, blindside blocking.

Pats. I remember watching them lose to the Bills at Fenway Park when they were 'homeless'. No one will see a run like this again.

I'm still friends with many of my schoolmates from Vermont, several from NH, and a couple from Conn. All are Pats fans. I went to college at Hofstra when the NYJ were headquartered there. That was an arrogant team in the 1980s that never really did anything. I don't falut them because there were much better QBs ruling the AFC at the time.

Many of the QBs being called great were great, but many were part of awesome Hall of Fame teams. Other than Randy Moss and Corey Dillon, Brady virtually did most of his Super Bowl starts with a bunch of offensive players no one drafted or wanted. His two leading receivers are an undersized QB from Kent State and an undrafted lacrosse player from Penn State who was signed off of Buffalo's practice squad. How sad is that?

I will say, I rarely come across a Pats fan that does not have a New England connection of some sorts. Unlike Cowboy or Steelers fans who got a good number of their fan base that have no connection to those areas and just chose them because they are good teams. Kind of like no one roots for the Browns unless they are from that area of Ohio.

Personally, I tend to dislike teams that left their home areas like the Colts, Ravens, Titans, Raiders, Rams and now Chargers. Back in the 90s, the group that owned the Patriots were planning on moving the team to St. Louis (Rams were still in LA) and calling them the St. Louis Revolution. Kraft owned the stadium and would not let the team break the lease. The group could not afford to keep the team in Foxboro and now could not leave for St. Louis. Kraft was a fan and made an offer to buy the team, built them a new stadium and hired a new coach.

Toshi

Who do you got for the Super Bowl?

I have the Atlanta Falcons!  Great QB with lots of playmakers, and an awesome defense.  I actually have two football cards of Matt Ryan, an autograph card and one with his actual jersey in the card.  If I can find it, I'll post a photo of it here.

Although Tom Brady will be the greatest QB of all time, his offense is weak and the defense needs a lot of help.  Then again, Belicheck and Brady always finds a way.

Toshi

I don't doubt that Brady is a great QB but not sure I'd go as far as greatest of all time. Not with guys like Montana, Elway, Bradshaw, and Aikman having won at the highest level as they did in their day.

As for the game itself, I really don't have an opinion one way or the other.  The NFL has largely lost me as a fan for its political stances of late, and I grow tired of seeing the same teams year-in, year-out, representing the league in the Super Bowl.  If I had a say in who would make this game, especially this year, I would have put the Texans in to face the Cowgirls, er, Cowboys.  But since I don't have the authority to mandate who plays, I will pull for Atlanta since they are not a same-old same-old such as the Patriots have become.

Yeah, I was a Pat's fan before the Brady/Belichek era, don't always agree with how they do things now. Hate driving in Mass too, but they seem to drive crazy wherever they are.

Falcons. The whole New England hates Brady and the cheating Pats except Massachusetts.

I can't stand Brady and his wife and the coach.

Really?? I live one state away and like the Pats...and hate most Massholes

I live in NYS. Yeah, ask around. You'd be surprised how many folks hates the Patriots. Nothing but a bunch of cheaters.

I hate driving on the Mass Pike. Bunch of crazy drivers in Massachusetts.

New England.

However, I'm a fan of the game and follow the Pats. Until Mr. Kraft comes down and hands me money or a free jersey for being a fan, I will not loose sleep if they loose.

35-21 New England.
