That's awesome, Ernie! So glad you shared your excitement with us. I join with everyone in wishing you a fantastic trip!

I must be the only Cuban that can’t swim!Propeller

That's the funniest thing I've seen this month. Smile

On the FL weather, uh, wait a sec, it just finally warmed up (for us yankees......and then we left for the frozen north). I hardly had a chance to enjoy the heat! But I know how it goes for y'all year-rounders down there. I'm just yanking your chain a little.

My biggest dream is to spend at least 2 - 3 months in England and the surrounding countryside. Definitely around the air show circuit.

Don't fall overboard on any of the boat trips......you'll go straight to the bottom with all the extra batteries and chips for your camera.

Lot of things on that list I know I'll never see, enjoy the daylights out of it.

Lucky you. My wife won’t go to anything WW2 related. She hates them and thinks they’re boring. I‘ve been wanting to go to Reading PA in the first weekend in June where they have a huge air show, WW2 re-enactments, dinner and a show. My plan: travel Friday, spend all day and night Saturday, come home Sunday. Saturday night they have a dinner show with Big Band music and swing dancing just as they done back during WW2.

Hell, I can’t even convince her to go to the Geneseo Air Show and museum where Whiskey 7 is based.

I’ve already told her a long time ago, me and my sister have planned on taking the Band of Brothers Tour upon our retirements from our jobs.

Enjoy your time across the pond!

Looks like the weather will be on the cooler side mostly in the 50s. Glad to get away from the Florida heat.

Don't i feel guilty. Your flying across the Atlantic and seeing things that are on my doorstep and still on my to view list. I have been trying to get the Mrs to visit her family in Manchester just so i can pop over to see the U-534.

Sure you will have a great trip, just hope the weather holds out.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

She has planned this trip around my historical interests! We leave on the 22 of this month to London where we honeymooned in 1985.  Can’t wait to see the HMS Belfast again and the Imperial War Museum. The next day we board our ship nearby and head off to Liverpool. By the by, the Belfast fought the mighty Bismarck and lived to tell the story.
At Liverpool she got tickets to see U-534, there as a museum and will then see the Beatles Museum after that. At Liverpool we board the ship later that day and head to Ireland, Scotland, then on to Guernsey in the Channel off the coast of Normandy (was German occupied in WWII and has a fantastic small museum housing lots of German goodies).
The following day the ship will be at Le Havre in Normandy where she booked a private tour taking us to several places along the D Day Invasion area including bloody Omaha Beach, the US Cemetery there where 9,380 Americans are buried and other locations including Pointe Du Hoc where the 5th US Rangers scaled the cliffs suffereing heavy losses but eventually  capturing the gun positions there overlooking the landings.
We will be in Normandy on June 5th and will miss the 75th D Day Invasion Anniversary the following day as we fly back to the colonies. I still can't believe it!!
