Fermis, that bacon wrapped meat is beautiful. I'm getting a pound of homade pancetta tommorrow from a friend. I was thinking the same thing with beef filet.

Salmon in Michigan? Howdat?

The Great Lakes were stocked with em, back in the 60's ('64 IIRC). The native Lake Trout were pretty much wiped out by over fishing and lampreys. The fishery was basically dead. I think Erie (maybe even Ontario???) is the only one without salmon...but steelhead have found there way in.

We have a camp on the Manistee River...go up in Fall for the spawning "run". It has steadily been getting worse and worse every year. The state closed down the hatchery for the Big Manistee some time ago. The Native tribe offered to take it over, at no expense to the state...but...politics.

I guess you are talking about the photostream and not the picture posted? If it's these they are fleshettes from a 105mm beehive round. I forgot I even had them. The projectile had about 7 or 8 thousand of them inside if I remember right. Kind of like you better hope this works cause there is not much left.

Drums - Seeing your picture story brings me joy, knowing that a young man has such a fine Dad. Yes, he needs you and you need him, a real gift in life for both of you. I freely admit a couple of tears formed, seeing how much he is loved.

My 33 year old special needs nephew, Dan, is supported by family, friends and Special "O," (I'm his bowling coach.) He was taken to his prom by six classmate girls, they were not going to see him have to ask anyone, so they decided to ask him well before the event. Limo and the whole deal, they even paid for it, exceptional young ladies.

You have my full respect and admiration, Drums, thanks for the post that made my day.

Drums, those are great shots.

I have always been an airplane enthusiast.  Seeing the Blue Angels display their skills is something I love to do, and have traveled to admire.

I earned my private pilot certificate in July 1987. I flew regularly for a few years, two or three times a month, until the money ran out. Today, I'll try to set aside enough money to fly two or three times a year. There is a fellow at New Smyrna Beach Airport who has a J-3 Cub, a Stearman and an SNJ he gives dual instruction in. I'll fly with him in the J-3, out over the beach mostly. It's such a joy to be up there, in command, seeing all of the beauty below me.

OK. In the stash: Way too much to build in one lifetime...
