The Avon Sabre is made buy High Planes models, and goes for around $50 Aussie.
Basically it's the same as the conversion kit they made for the Academy F-86, but that one was a mongrel to do, so they boxed it all up and sell it as one package.
From what I hear, it's a touch scruffy mould wise, but otherwise ok.
Guess I'll find out if it ever gets here
As for the Black Undercoat, the Alclad system runs in 3 stages.
Grey primer coat first, then 24-48 hours drying time, then a light sand with fine paper.
Then black undercoat, 24-48 hours drying time, nice smooth sanding with ultra fine paper. You want it to be silky and shiny smooth otherwise it ruins the final coat.
Lastly, your BMF of your choice.
If you live in humid conditions, extned the drying time by a few days, otherwise the BMF will crack as it dries, and look really shabby.
The Sabre was finished in an Aluminium tone, was it not??
Cause it wasn't all that shiny, so I figure a general aluminium coat would do it.
