Heartily recommend a Delta double action airbrush from Stanbridges for around $100. You will need a compressor and water trap with that also.

Personally I use acrylic paints due to clean up easy and the fumes problem with enamels.

My kind of advice - affordable and house friendly!  LOL.  Thanks Mike.  Eyed off a couple of nice compressors with water traps this arvo.

Now that I know I should be here in Sept, I should be able to go. Considering I am in South Perth, no excuses ;).

Fellas,

Has anyone out there bought the Novascale 1/32 sheet for Aussie Beaufighters ?

It seems kinda expensive (as you can guess, I dont buy many OOB decals)

You get 3 variants with the sheet, and I was kinda hoping someone might have made one version, and had the other two in the stash.  Happy to pay for postage, or swap for something in my decal pile..........

I  cant see the point in buying the whole sheet when I only want to make one kit.  I have 1/32 roundels for the wings, and I thought I'd paint the tail markings by hand.

Paul.

Never heard of that sheet before and it does sound interesting. I have a 1:32 Beau just sitting there waiting light of day. Hopefully there will be some resin cockpit goodies one day.

Where is it available please?

cheers

Mike

Novascale hobbies sell on E-bay.  If you search under "decals" in the Models, Kits.  section, they should turn up.  They have a lot of stock, probably more than Roy LEE at leeroyofoz.

WA Scale Model Expo
Posted by vflight on Thursday, July 26, 2007 4:26 AM

The Western Australian Scale Model Expo will be held at the South Perth Civic Centre (not Recreation Centre). All the details can be found at http://wasmex.homestead.com. A treat for visitors to WASMEx this year will be casting demonstrations by Adelaide Moulding & Casting Supplies.

A bit of info on the Nova Scale decals, they are printed by Aussie Decals for Nova.

Thanks for that info. I must look that sheet up as it would be a nice kit to do as a RAAF Beau. There would need to be some scratch building though.

Cheers

hi there

i have been modelling for a few years now, and I have just started the Hasegawa kit for the RAAF Mosquito.  I was wondering if anybody can help me with my question.  Did the RAAF Mosquitoes have rockets fixed to the wings.  Thanks for any information recieved.

 cheers

Mike,  Pardon my laziness for not doing my own research, but what scratchbuilding would you have to do for a RAAF Beaufighter ?

Hi Mate,

I'd post your question over here http://www.aussiemodeller.com/pages/discussiongroup/forum.html

You don't have to be a member, just post away. The guys over there are a really good bunch of blokes that really know their stuff when it comes to all things Aussie.

Good luck.

Sad news for local modellers...

I visited the Avenue Hobbies website earlier this evening and there is an announcement on the "new arrivals" page that they will be closing down and that there is a 25% discount on all stock.

It looks like we are about to lose a true modeller's hobby store.  Sigh [sigh]

Question [?]Just wondering if any of Aussie modellers that were active on this thread are still around.

Blindfold [X-)]I've been missing from this site for a while, Sigh [sigh]had to take a forced break from modelling, Smile [:)]getting back in it now.

Wayne I enjoy getting older, especially when I consider the alternative.

Welcome back Wayne,

I'm an infrequent poster to this thread, but I'm still here... Smile [:)]

I had been wondering the same thing - last post prior to yours was over a year ago.

Still here.  I have to admit I find the layout of the FSM forums a bit more user friendly and easy on the eye than the Aussie Modeller site, which is why I tend to hang out here.

Yeah I'm still here but like most I've been off FSM for sometime; come to think of it, I've been off the models too - time to get back to it.

Hi all,
Well I am certainly an Aussie Modeller trying to get back into Modelling, though no reall disconnection from it, merely trying to improve beyond my current level, 1 :(.  But certainly love it and look forward to chatting and learning more.

Thanks
Michael
