Smeagol.

No offence, but if this ones goes the way of your last GB (armour Secret Santa) I wouldnt put my name down for it either.  I just "re-visited" that one, and the final post was made by me in February 2009.  Thats only 2 moths after Xmas !  I dont know who finished and who didnt, there are no completed pics of anything on Page 1, where the host (thats YOU) should put them, and indicates who has finished/who is still building.

There's  more to hosting a GB than putting a post in the GB forum.  You have to keep people motivated and interested, and shepherd the participants over the finish line.........eventually.  If you dont have the time to do that......maybe stick to being a participant rather  than a host.

Yea, I got like 3 people responding, which isn't enough, and of those only one sent a second reply with telling me who they were, their forum handle, instead of real info.

Im disapointed, but last one I did here had alot more people too..

Luckily, there's a ton of time left before the holidays. :)  Did you try crossposting it in some of the other forums?  I'm guessing some folks may only check a couple of forums.

Right now only 3 people have emailed me, Ill be honest, these things dont work that well with small numbers so unless we get atleast 6 participants I think think this is going to work.

I'd be up for it.  My budget for new kits is pretty shot this time of year though.  Would it be okay to send one of the un-built kits from my collection?  I can't do any small scale kits anymore so I only do 1/48 and 1/32 scale.  I really prefer 1/32 but I don't have a lot of those in my collection.  I love military aircraft, especially WWII era and early jet aircraft.  I don't do biplanes anymore.  My cat has a tendency to think they are large bugs and no good ever comes of that.

Yes, he has become quiet the builder and we been doing kit exchanges for some years round this time of year.

Any kit is fine for him, same for me.

From stash is fine.  Honestly, that makes it more personal, its something of yours your sending.

25lb is fine with me.  Also if you buy from a usa shop and have them ship it, while its not the best, that would be easy on your wallet.

now dont go buying stuff right yet, we need to get everything set up before hand

Would it be ok if we sent something from our stash? Not that im going to, but if might be a cheaper option for someone. especially if they get paired with me lol.

thats cool, looking at conversion it looks like you can get kits cheaper in the U.S e.t.c,

running down to  £15 in the uk gets you not a lot unless you get a really good deal,

would it be ok to ship directly if possible, post in the uk is ridiculous?!

sorry i seem to be putting this down, im not , i would love to take part.!  heck, even if its international, i could buy on a store based on my Reciever, and ship direclty to them  that way.

anyway im skint all the time  but i am Very willing to join in and spread the sprue...

did i tell you about the time i got passively mugged for £10 by a 13yo girl .....

Well the Pound is worth more then the dollar, saddly...  Im not going to say NO YOU CAN NOT SPEND MORE if you really want to be nice and charitable, or if the cost goes to like 26$ or something.

The way I ran the last one I did was basicly.

You get it, wrap it, and ship it out

they get it, put it away

Christmas day everyone opens it, comes here posts what they got.  Then they build it when they get around to it, just dig up the old thread and post in it.

count me in,  for uk would £25 max for the kit be acceptable? postage on top of.

i have a few ideas brewing.

we could do some sort of january GB where we show off our pressies, and build em.

regardless of schedules or current builds, it would be pretty rude to put it to one side

just because something else is on the wb.
