This is model related in a way. It is about call signs that appear on the sides of aircraft that we build as models. See. There's the connection.

Do posts on this forum ever get removed?

There used to be a section called "Odd & Ends" for "model- stuff that didn't have a home", but it got 86'd because it was more a social forum and a couple of big flame-wars broke out.. The Admins at first started just locking and/or removing offending posts and throwing the occasional memeber in the stockade for a couple weeks, but the last flame-war got so hot the ol' Red Adair hisself wouldn't go near it...

And with millions of people dying,  the Admins took off and nuked the site from orbit... It was the only way to be sure..

That said, one can get away with skoshi-bit of "social" posting in this forum, but they best be modeling-related in one form or another somewhere...

JOE RIX

I came up with "Indy". That's cool as I love auto racing.

That's not the mental picture I got when I read your call-sign.. I was thinkin'

which is what a call-sign should do. Conjur-up a mental image of the person "wearing" it, lol.. Pretty sure that far more people will come up with the above image for that call-sign than would come up with a race-car, lol..

Too bad about the guy that got "Hemoroid"...  That kinda mental image I can live without, lol.. Although, it would make a great name for a fighter... After 6-8 hours sittin' on a parachute seat-cushion in P-51 on it's way back from Berlin, well...

I recall reading where one F-16 pilot wanted to be called "Iceman" so bad that he could taste it.. He wound up with "Slush" because nobody in the unit thought he was cool enough for "Iceman", lol.. (Rule # 1-Never pick your own call-sign)
