mitsdude - your comment reminds me of something that happened to me back when I was a kid growing upo in the 70s. I asked my grandpa I wanted Thunderbolt. What did he do? He went out and bought me a P-47 Thunderbolt modle kit when I actually meant I wanted the toy horse named Thunderbolt from the Johnny West collection. For those that don't know what I'm talking about, this is Thnderbolt:

Back then, I had General Custer, Geronimo. Johnny West, Fighting Eagle (Mohawk Indian) Captain Tom Maddox (Union Soldier) while my sister had Jane West, Storm Cloud (the Pinto Horse). Now I wished I still had them. Wonder how much they would be worth now? LOL!

A little update. Yesterday, stopped by the LHS where I placed my order of my kits. I was told two of the 3 kits are coming in possibly today or tomorrow. They are: De Havilland Mosquito, and the Hawker Typhoon. The Japanese bomber he has to find elsewhere. I told him don't worry about it. I'm good with what's coming in. LOL!

I had those Johnny West figures too. I know I had Johnny West, Captain Maddox, and that bad guy dressed all in black. He had the neat Wild, Wild West style cane sword and other tricky items like a pistol that assembled into a rifle.

As for models for Christmas, my brother sent me $50 and I bought a Trumpeter BMP-3F, Trumpeter Canadian Husky and Trumpeter 1/72 Pershing.

You know Rob - we had THE best toys when we were kids. There's nothing kids today can compare to what we had. LOL!

i figure she actually supports my hobby and i that's enough. i do have to winnow the stash but both cars fit in the garage so it's still manageable.
