Yep, that's it. Thanks Rob! Phoenix was the company. I wonder if those kits are still around?

Texgunner Do any of you remember the models of scantily-clad ladies that used to appear in FSM? I think they were resin castings. Heck, they may still advertise those, I haven't looked at a new FSM mag in many years.

Those were the Phoenix Phollies and the Phoenix Phantasy in white metal. I remember them being advertised in the old Military Modeling magazine.
I have a 1/100 Veritech fighter in guardian mode.
I build 1/48 scale WW2 fighters.
Have fun.
JimNTENN Doog, I have the Eagle from Space 1999 as well. I started building it years ago and stopped for whatever reason I can't remember. I'll have to dig it out one day and finish it. That was one of my favorite Sci-Fi shows of my childhood. Shame it had such a short run.

I had SUCH a HUGE CRUSH on "Sandra" from Space 1999 when I Was a kid! I recently got the first two seasons on DVD--man, I think the special effects were even worse than Star Trek's at one point! But I remember being fascinated by the show when I was young!
What a great Thread! Many cool kits I have NEVER seen or heard of before. And don't get me started on Space 1999! I so want an Eagle! As a kid, on Saturdays, Space 1999 and UFO (anyone remember that one?) would come on. I'd love to get some kits of the UFO stuff too, but they are hard to find..and expensive when you do find them!
Anyway, I saw the UPC Chariot kit and had to laugh. I bought (for my wife who loves all things British), the State Coach of England! Yeah....I bought it for her!
It even has the Queen and Prince!

Do any of You remember the TV series, ''Death Vally'' sponsored by Borax? Anyway, I got a present from my Dad's boss at the time, about 1951, it was about a 1:48 scale kit of the ''20 mule team Borax wagon train, two ore wagons and water tanker at the end, pulled by the 20 mules, across the salt lake desert. Very interesting build, detail was outstanding. For the life of me, I can never remember, who made the kit.

Edit: Was able to do a little research and found the Model was 1:67 and they are making it again,WOW! 60+yrs later. Anyone interested in what it looked like, click here:

subfixer My candidates for most unusual would be a wooden circus calliope and a Mercury/Atlas launch pad.

JimNTENN The sand worm from Dune? This thread is getting interesting.

There are some really cool kits being displayed here, many of which I've never heard of.
I definitely see steampunk in those, Phil. I really like the motorcycle...reminds me of Ghostrider.
I picked up two models this weekend
Both complete impulse buys at a show as I just liked the Steampunk look

Foil would definitely look good on that UFO, Bill
Revell did three model kits that tied into the Dune movie. The best of the three was the 1/72 Ornithopter they used to escape into the desert. They also did a sand crawler in a much larger scale, 1/25 or 1/32 if memory serves me. I've got them somewhere. The sand worm is a very small scale, but a very large worm and even comes with the little Freman figures to pose on top of the worm and the worm itself is molded on a sand base.
Below is a link to the box art of the kits.

Somebody else had recently started a thread like this and for that I posted my Testors Roswell UFO model kit.
Mine is still in the box. I look forward to building it someday. Might be a great opportunity to practice metal foil work, huh?
Bill.
On the bench: Lindberg 1/32 scale 1934 Ford Coupe and a few rescue projects.
In queue: Tamiya 1/35 Quad Tractor or a scratch build project.
Haha, no, but it's from Toho films where the hapless ground forces do battle (or rather, get stomped as part of the script) against kings of monsters like Godzillas and the like.
More recently I bought the 1/700 Tomytech LC39 Space Shuttle Launching Pad. Pricy but men must never let go of the romance of space exploration!
Not the most impressive, but unusual would be the "JGSDF Type 66 Anti Biological Maser Cannon" in 1/87, for some pest control of gigantic proportions.
JimNTENN Doog, I think both of those are certainly unique kits. I've been tempted to buy the Psycho kit but haven't done it yet. And the Chariot is a new one to me. I've never heard of UPC. Is that an old or new kit?

Probably the oddest kit I have is the sand worm from the 1984 movie, Dune.
Is that Peterbilt Pumper still available?
Offshore oil rig and nuclear reactor? Now those are models you don't see everyday. And I've NEVER seen either one of them.
The most 'unusual' model in my stash is probably Revell's Peterbilt Pumper. My wife got it for me the first Christmas we were married.

Cool!
I have wanted that one for awhile .I have the " OffShore Oil Rig " but somewhere along the wayI lost my real prize which is the REVELL early release of a "Westinghouse Nuclear Reactor' . I can find the same thing in paper and it's the same scale too ! But it just isn't the same
I thought it looked old but didn't know if maybe the box was made up to look that way.
