My local hobby shop has had this "Takom" Mk.V 3-in-1 kit on the shelf for about six months now. About 2 weeks ago I bought it, though it's WAY over my head in terms of skill level right now. It's a great looking kit though, and I'm really looking forward to the day I can build it and do it justice. I've got a couple other sets here, including a Revell B-29, but I'm almost more dreading that one on account of how big it is when it's done.

I flew on one of NOAA's WP-3Cs for an article I was writing. I think it was Miss Piggy. Flew into Hurricane Isidore, but only for one pass because it was making landfall, which can spin up tornadoes. Would be interested in any pics you might have after you finish the build. I also have some photos of the plane if you need 'em.

I bought an ymirsaurus model at Wonderfest a few years ago, and it's been burning a hole in my collection ever since. I stumbled across a large Roman temple for aquariums a while back, and decided to combine the two into a diorama. I have to finish a Cosmostrator for a friend and a '63 Vette for me, but after that, there's gonna be a Harryhausen party on my workbench.

Here are the two that represent where this is all going. My father brought us to Annette Island USCG air station in 1964. Spent most of my life, 35 years anyway, in SE Alaska. My father was an airdale (mechanic) with the USCG. I grew up running around the insides of these Albatross’ and Coastal Ellis Grumman Goose. My wife’s uncle owned an air taxi service flying the Grumman Goose, among other AC.
On the far side of the bay behind the Goose was our home’s location. This was an early 60’s photo.
It has taken me six months of searching to find these. I wish to get a few years building under the belt before opening the lids on these.
Merry Christmas,

Revell 1990 Mustang LX.

Painted "Strato Blue" and marked as a USAF chase car. I'm going to email Scalefinishes for the correct paint. I have already sourced the USAF decals and appropriate Whelen strobe lightbar.

Ummmmm good.

My retirement project when ever I get around to it

Ahhhhh.  The retirement kit.  In my mind, that's a different animal than the one I most want to start in the stash.  My retirement kit is the Model Shipways 1:64 Niagara - a beautiful wood sailing ship kit.  Never done one...always wanted to.  And yes - it is in my stash patiently waiting.  There's a few years yet...

I have a AFV Scimitar ready for paint and a Tamiya Challenger under construction.  I want to start (and finish by September) a Tamiya Land Rover 7 ambulance.  That is ambitious as I can plan for the next year.

I hear ya. Once my son's Little League starts in spring and summer; well, there goes my free time down the drain.

I don't really have a single kit screaming at me. But I'm going to finish all the half built ones. I'd like to get 10 done by spring. Once fishing season starts modeling time dwindles considerably

My retirement project when ever I get around to it, will be the Accurate Armor 1/35th U-boat and quay set. Others in the stash that cries out 'Build Me' are a couple of the Trumpeter's 1/32 Intruders and the USS Arizona.

I now have so many, I don't know where to start. But, I would like to pull out at least one of my 1/350 battleships and get it started.

I want to finish a diorama I started, however, it requires modifying a whole lot of figures and some water, neither r of which I've ever done so I need to start working on my skills for both of those.

So, which stash kit is screaming at you to build it next?

They're all screaming at me to build them! They keep me up at night! I have to wear earplugs just to get some rest! Big Smile

All of them once I get my portable airbrush spray booth. I haven't resumed finishing my P-47 Thunderbolt nor started any others this past 2 summers. Life has taken a lot of my free time away from building.

Well i managed to achieve my aim and got the 219 built. So next on my list has to be the Monogram 72nd B-52. I have been wanting to do this for as long as i can remember. I even started one once but when i had to put my stuff in storage it got wrecked, so going to have another go. Unbofrtuanly, i am suffering from the same issue as eric, display space, or lack there of. I have now had to start boxing some up and storing them in the shed. So no idea what i would do with a 52.

PJ, would love to see that Trump Stuka.

A great topic indeed!  I think there are two things I'd like to tackle next.  The one that has my hyperventilating at the moment is the 1/48 XB-42 Mixmaster that I got from Lone Star Models a couple of months ago.  Once I finish the Monogram F-86D that I'm working on, I think I'll jump on that XB-42.

The second thing I'd like to tackle....the second thing I NEED to tackle is a display area.  I am seriously out of room in my house and my models have taken over my poor wife's display cabinets.  We plan on taking a trip to Ikea in the spring andloading up a rental van with stuff.  I think I'm going to grab a couple of glass display cases while I'm there and then I'll put them in my basement next to my workbench.

Wow, folks!  I love the selections in this thread.

For my own choice - assuming I could stay focused on the build - I would pick either my 1/32 Hobby Boss P-61 Black Widow or my 1/32 Silver Wings Hawker Hart.  I have all the extras I need for the Widow, and a couple of not necessary ones for the Hart.  Now I just need that most precious aftermarket item...time.

And then there's the 1/350 U.S.S. Johnston waiting...but don't tell anyone.  I'm supposed to build airplanes! Wink

This is a somewhat difficult question for me to answer. I have a modest stash and is quite hard to pick out A single subject but I have some that fit that bill:

Itareri 1/35 Sd.Kfz.232 6 Rad car with interior and resin updates, kit #6445

Hobby Boss 1/48 A-6E Intruder. This is an awesome kit with tons of weapons and folding wing option to boot.

Bandai 1/24 George. This one needs extra TLC and scratch building in the pit and engine areas but it will make one heck of a display piece.

1/32 Trumpeter Ju87G-2 Tank Buster. What a freaking impressive detailed kit this is.

I better stop here cause it's just too hard for me to pick out a favorite one.

I have this kit and bought a 50mm cannon for it. Awesome kit and look forward to a possible WIP?

Once upon a time, far, far away.... I remember in grade school collecting and sending in pennies to save her, and touring her upon restoration, and decades later watched her under limited sail during the first Tall Ships festival, also she's less than an hours drive for research : USS Constitution, Revells 1:96 kit. Picked it up at a good price but will not be tempted until I have a enough quality builds worked up to go at it.

Great thread Eric. Thanks for asking.Certainly, like others here, I have a sizeable stash of "Love to builds". Yet, I have three that are tops on my list:

1/48 Monogram Pro-Modeler PBY-5A Catalina: My father flew these during and after the war as a flight instructor. Although he flew just about everything the Navy had, he flew the PBY most and loved it. Always wanted to build this for my dad, but he passed away suddenly before I was ever able to and thus, it is at the top of my list.

1/48 Tamiya F4U-1A and/ or 1D: My favorite all time aircraft. Mt father also flew these and really had an affinity for the bentwing bird.

1/48 Sikorsky MH-53E Sea Dragon Mine Hunter: This is the helicopter my brother flew most of his career in the Navy and as commander of HM-14 squadron.

I have yet to build these as I, like many others here, took a number of years off from modeling and since I started building again I've wanted to build up and sharpen my skills prior to building these. I really want to put by best efforts into these.
