If you can not get the hang of the VL, I have a feeling the Iwata wont be much different. You need pratcice, and I would start with food colors and paper until you get the hang of your brush. Youtube is loaded with videos to help you learn how to handle your airbrush.
The VL is really as simplistic an airbrush as you're going to find. I'm not saying it's a world-beater, I'm saying it is very easy to use, and you wont find a simpler brush unless you stick to a single action gun.
IMHO, Spiral, this is some good advice that may not benefit the original poster, but may benefit others. That's my only point!
Is it annoying that someone revives a 12-13 year old thread, yeah. Is it a big deal? To me not really... But, I can understand if you are annoyed, I'll leave it at that.
