Damn, you guys' stashes make mine look like a $1.99 lunch.

I bought most of these stuff when I was ***-teen 15-20 years ago. I just ordered 4 Academy aircraft kits from Korea.1/72  B-17F Memhphis Belle, B17E,   1/48 F4 Phantom and Mig-21MF

Wow! Now that's a stash!

That is way more than my local modelling store.

Here's my small stash, plan to add more next Summer.  Have my eye on Tamiya's new F-14A Tomcat.

I've got quite a "few" kits on my watch list on scalehobbyist.com website. oh yeah, on eBay too! Lol!

100+ and counting. All 1/48 scale, planes armor, even a few cars, lunar module, and a pt boat. Eyeing that new 1/48 trumpeter sub , someone stop me.

 

That Trumpy sub is huge and is super detailed. I beleive it has crew figures and a full interior.

Same I Don't have much room yet.

About 30, mostly 1/35 armor with about 3 Japanese planes for good measure. Right now I'm selling off some of my more involved Dragon armor kits with tons of roadwheels and small tracks. I'm just not building and my eyes are getting older. Keeping all of my Tamiya kits for simplicity sake.

I have always heard that it is not how big you stash is but how well you build it. Then again I have neber had any complaints about it from the Mrs.

I'm in the minority, I don't have a stash.  Well, I have 3 in my closet waiting to be built, but that's it.  They were given to me the past couple of years as Christmas gifts.

For me, the hobby shop is my stash.  When I complete a build, I then go to the hobby shop (or ebay) and find a new kit for my next project.  I really have no desire to collect the kits and have them sit in a closet.  That's just me though, I realize I'm in the minority!

I couldn't work like that. For me having a stash isn't about bragging rights but about haveing a good selection of kits to choose from. I am very particular in what i build, i have to have an interest in the kit i am doing. I couldn't just go into the hobby shop and pick one because there is a good chance they won't have anything i fancy doing. Plus, having a stash means i can check out the kit before i start, i can work out what AM i need and as a diorama builder, i like to plan well ahead so i have everything i need.

There is no way - I have over 5000, and have a garage full of boxes, plus a 53' semi trailer next to the house FULL.  I am having to call BS on this one.

I tend to buy 2 or 3 kits and then not buy any more until i have the AM for those. At one time i found i was spending all my budget for the 10 or so kits i wanted AM for. And i am now very selective in what i buys. There are only so many 109's and Tiger one can have, even for a Germaholic like me. I concentrate now on my 3 long term projects and now and again somthing which takes my fancy whether it be subject or markings.

Yeah, and with the parking garage for his Tiger tank, giant brewery, and huge indoor heated pool even the Castle von Manstein has got to be running out of space for models. Being perched on a mountain-top there's not much room for an expansion.

Wow!  Makes me feel better with only 2500 models.

I don't have an exact count, but it is currently in the range of 200.  I'm not sure if that qualifies me as a hoarder, but if so, so be it.  I like having the option of simply looking into the stash and listening for which kit is calling my name.  Plus it has made this current year of being unemployed more bearable by giving me ample bench time.

My stash is kept in multiple places in and around my garage work room.  Here are some photos.

There are a couple more areas with stashed kits that I simply could not get the camera into a position to photograph ...

I tend to build WWII aircraft, mostly 1/48 but have a few 1/72 and 1/32 and even a 1/24 kit in there as well.  A good collection of spacecraft, mostly Star Wars but there is also a Fantastic Planet (?) flying saucer in there.

I'm a moderate. Late 80s till today I've got a lot of smalls. 

Don't really know, last time I counted was 5 or 6 years ago and IIRC, I had 550 or 560 at that time - built a few since then and added a few since then.  Problem is that I will be 73 this next year and fully realize there is no way I will ever build all of them before I wonder on.

I wish i could afford to have a stash. Just getting back into the hobby i had 0 tools or supplies. Not to mention i barely have the workspace. 2 bedroom apartment isnt cutting it. So for now im getting the harder to find kits i want and trying to keep atleast 2 put back. I am currently trying to build up my paint color range. Tired of being halted because i don't have what i need and usually have to order online. Ordering $3 bucks worth of paint isnt worth the shipping so i try to get as much as i can afford at the time.

I must have close to a 100 plus. And I still have 2 in the mail (HK B-17F due today) and a Trumpeter A-6A on back order TBA February. The problem with the stash is now trying to find space to stash them.
