Nice take homes Steve. I've been curious about the quality of the Revell paints. That Spit is a righteous choice.

Well, it is high time I updated the latest kits I've acquired.

I just got this 1/144 Fujimi IJA Super Heavy Bomber Fugaku Kai. I'm not normally into prototypes or what ifs but, this was way too cool.

Since I have not been able to make it over to my nearest LHS in over a year I figured I'd order these from them and have them shipped over.

Then I've added these from ebay or FB auctions:

And then I got this from Free Time Hobbies:

Not kits this time but Car/Truck/Trike logo decals. These are Nail Art decals and are around 1/24-1/25 scale. I've used the Ice Creams on both The Ice Cream Truck and more recenly on The Ice Cycle Trike. So I bought more Ice Creams/Black & White Palm Trees/and new soda/lemonade sponsor logo's, Coca Cola/Fanta/Pepsi Cola and a lot more. Easy to lay up and good quality. Prices are from around £1.35 - £1.75 per sheet from ebay.

HOLY COW Joe!!!!! What a haul Stick out tongue

You don't see too many Bearcats or Hustlers. There's nothing in that haul I wouldn't take.

I want to get the Guam. My wife's father was in the Navy and stationed in Guam when she was born.

Not much into paper tigers of what if's either but what the heck.

Neat decals Pat

The Kai looks like a six engine cross of a 17/29.  I like it.

Knowing your skills, you'll do it proud.

Been thinking about a Bearcat done as Rare Bear.

Yeah, great stuff there guys!

And that's an insane haul Joe!!!

I picked up the Fugaku in an alternate boxing. Looks like a nice kit in the box and it's friggin' huge even in 1/144th! And love the Alaska battlecruiser and the Bearcats- hey the whole darn haul is awesome!

Pat: Never thought about using nail decals, very cool.

Gold or purple?

The Bear is my favorite Reno racer, although she doesn't win as much as she did in the 90's and early 2000's. The Seafurys seem to get the gold anymore.

The purple is a standout, haven't seen any decals for it though.  Especially the 2008 checkerboard scheme.

Greenamyer's was more in my day and time.  He ecomomized on aluminum even more than Grumman did.

Yeah, that purple scheme is a knock out.

Just sent an email to calligraphics in NM, asking.  They do a couple sets for the RC folks.

I am a huge fan of Rare Bear. That purple scheme is indeed choice. i attended the Reno Air Races in 1991 and thought this scheme was boss then.

Hey Bish, It appears to be a fairly nice kit with decent detail and fine panel lines. There is some flash to clean up, no locator pins and no option for an open canopy. As such, from my initial inspection I'd recommend snagging one.

I grew up about 70 miles away, my sister had a home near Stead.  Went to the races in '69 or '70 as part of my avaition classes.  Days of Bob Hoover, Blue Angels in Phantoms, and more Pitt's than you could count.

Thanks, sounds typical for a short run kit, not to much to worry about. I built the Academy kit a few years back in Midway markings, but really fancy the British one. I meant to grab the Sword Ar 196 but never got around to it, now i can't find one. So deffinetly going to get the Avenger before its to late.

Just got these delivered over the pond from Hannats,  I see lots of scratch building and fine tuning in my future!

My first model I bought was the Aurora version must have been early late 60's!

Those are cool John!

I ended up with the same Marivox kit from one of the guys in our club that drove a Saab and was crazy about anything Swedish that passed away years ago. I really need to pull the darn thing out and build it in his memory.

I said I wouldn't buy anymore kits this kit this year until I'd reduced my stash a bit.

Well I already broke it a few times.

And I got my Covid-19 vaccanation shot early this week and felt like rewarmed krap the last couple days.

So I did some retail relief.

I've been playing a lot of the wargame 'Order of Battle: Red Star' so I wanted something Russian.

Something that doesn't involve accordians or folk dancing though...

Yeah, this'll work...

Rubber band tracks and fiddly bit tracks- your choice!   Oh yeah!!!

Bought an extra set of crew. I love the leather jackets on the top set. It's supposed to be for heavy break-though tanks as well as flame tanks so I'm not sure it fits here. In any case I have the other set too.

And bonus!!! Like Real G's KV-II this one also has a quick-fried tower!!! I'm not sure what that is but it sounds very important! Plus main firecrackers- why? Because warlike vehemence that's why!!!

Gamera,

I am glad you got some retail relief from the vaccine side-effects!  I had a mild fever, joint aches, and headache for two days.

Hee-hee, on the box art for the Soviet Tank Crew Winter Uniforms, that's me on the left, saying "Gamera, you need to buy these kits too!"  Big Smile  You do seem skeptical though...  And the guy standing behind you is thinking "Dang, he's doing it AGAIN!!!"  Surprise

It's great that the main firecrackers were changed to pack better types!  So many quick fried towers - how COULD the Russians lose?

Just heard back from them.  They're willing to sell me the artwork to get a set of decals made for Rare Bear.

Have the old Testors kit coming.  Also a set of TMW PE for the Trumpy 1/350 John W Brown.

Yes, and the have the same scheme without the checkerboard pattern.  Calligraphics, they do stuff for R/C, bit not able to get down to our scales.

The TMW PE along with thick and thin EZ line showed up today.  For the John M Brown,  no idea yet on how much brass I'll use, and this will be first attempt at rigging anything.

Wow Gamera! Love that Russian talk, "a quick fried tower", gotta get me one of those. As for the accordions and folk dancing, I could handle a little 'horizontal folk dancing' with a couple of those Russian sheilas....

Pat: That's very cool!

And guys I love that violet Bearcat!

I wonder if a slow fried tower would have been more effective. And yeah Dodgy, some quite attractive Russian ladies in that photo, esp the brunette on the left. Heart
