Been a while since I've dropped in to check out what folks have been accumulating lately. I must say that you folks have picked up some rather impressive stuff.

Bish: I'm rather intrigued by the Fine Mold kits. Have you built one before? I'm interested in how the Me 410 is.

In the past while I've picked up a couple of additions. One in particular excited the daylights out of me. I acquired a 1/72 Hasegawa A-1H Skyraider with the toilet bomb! Heck, I didn't even know this kit existed until I saw it on a FB sell & trade group. Snagged it up immediately for $20.00.

Also picked this up:

By the way, this my test post for using Postimage.org for a photo hosting site. Tried it at Stik's recommendation.

Joe, i have now got 3 of the 410's but not built one yet. I think tempestJohnny has, he got me onto the kits and the site in japan. Jack is currently doing one of the 109's. They do look nice kits, but drop Johnny a line if he doesn't spot this.

Nice couple of kits there, is that tamiya a new one.

Thanks Bish. I'll hit him up on that. As for the Tamiya truck, no it's the old kit. I've always liked this subject so I snagged it up fairly cheap. Unfortunately it does not have an engine but, should be a fun kit to weather up.

My LHS is closing the doors this w/e, and here is what I picked up over the past couple of weeks, from 10 - 40 % off.  Dropped $300, and a third of it was on the carrier (have all 3 up detail kits coming for her from Japan). Paints include Alclad, Tamiya and MM acrylics.  Also got some brass and alum rod and tube.

Here are a couple I got in the mail last night from Squadron.  Not shown but included is a book on Scharnhorst for the Dragon 1/350 kit I bought from the LHS earlier this year.

Planning on the Raumer as the antartic version, beautiful 3 color camo on it.

Went to a model show today and came back with 3 new additions. The first two were on the shopping list and going for a good price, so why not.

The Nimrod even came with Alleycat resin engine intakes.

And i got this one from the raffle. Don't have a C, so its a welcome addition.

Its just a cage some vehilces used to carry for extra equipment. Our CSM's 432 and the company Ambulance had them. These things used to have all sorts of extras. We once ''borrowed'' a load of Chieftan side bins from vehicles that were being put up for sale and had then welded on to our 432's.

I just did a search on Hannants and i was surprised at how much in out there in 48th. Hobby Boss and Tamiya seem to have a decent selection of WW2 Allied kits, i did find a few modern kits, but agreed, post war is not that well covered.

I’ve emailed the manufactures directly at times. Sometimes I get a positive response, sometimes so-so and sometimes nothing. I don't think they search the forums to see what everybody wants so someone need to suggest it. Revell has a list you can vote on occasion.

I have NO idea why I bought this because I've never built any kind of maritime model!Indifferent  I have ordered a wood deck for this kit that is not included in the picture. I will get to it someday as I'd like to have a ship under glass in my office.

I been a little bit busy adding to the stash this year. I added a second Trumpeter A-6A  which gives me 3 of their Intruders to build, Now I just need to finish my current builds and try working on the stash.  I been trying to download this pic from Photobucket but I guess they went to charging folks to post our own pics on third party sites now so the heck with them.

I did pop the box on the HK B-17 to take a peek inside and wow she's huge! Wife says where will I display it? i don't have a clue, will cross that bridge when I start on it.

Mopar-  Have the same kit on the shelf.  Not getting the deck though.  Looked it over, and it is a daunting prospect for sure.  You MUST do a WIP when you get going on her.  That way I'll know weather to ship it to MC or not.Big Smile

A buddy just gave me a 1/48 ME-262A by Trimaster that he picked up at a swap meet. It looks to be a neat kit with lots of photoetch, metal gear and vinyl tires. I think I will need a couple more kits under my belt before I tackle this one. Anybody have any feed back on this kit? I did some research and I'm hearing the fit of the engine nacelles can be tricky.

Wow! Out of the blue a package arrived at the door yesterday with this in it! Long story. My deceased uncle Col. George Wells who was also my hero as a kid flew over 5000 hrs in WWII as a C-47 pilot. He was the first plane to pick up the Bataan surviors. After the war and a few years at home he went back to the Air Force to fly the new B-47 for SAC and later the B-52. His last mission was to command one of the two SAC FB-111A squadrons.

Later in life I built two of the aircraft he flew and they hang in my office. A couple of years ago I researched and at least talked about building an F-111 to complete the display. They are a long wing version and were hard to find at least for me. I even discussed it on the Forum. Meanwhile I started too many different projects and did get a reply from fellow Forum member Straycat1911 that he had one in his stash he'd send me. By then I'd been overcome with my other silly projects and I hated to take a plane from another man's stash that I might never build.

Fast Forward from months ago to present. I'm somewhat caught up in life and dug out an F-104 kit my wife won at a show. Since I already had a F-104 in my collection I decided I'd like to build the NASA version and began a search for discontinued decals. Straycat1911 responded again that he had a set for the very aircraft I needed and he would send them to me. They arrived yesterday in a strange large package with a Hasegawa 1/72 long winged F-111G that will build into the SAC Nuclear strike version of the time. Wow! I'm re-enthused!

Hats off to Straycat1911 for being a good human. He never asked for money or praise but helped a fellow modeler in need. I'm sending him a meager check today for the $12 freight and something for the decals and kit along with my heartfelt thanks.

I just got the Takom^ Tiger 2 with interior with out zimmerit.  I've been building Tigers since the dawn of time, (1970),  but is a fairly new one to me.  Lots of nice parts, and it looks like a fun build.
