Yeah, I haven't done a Mach 2 kit yet, but I've seen a couple that built up nicely.

Got these direct from TamiyaUSA site.

Thanks,

John

Nice 196, definately a kit I want. You may however, regret that Harrier. Easily the worst Harrier made by anyone and certainly Tamiya's worst kit ever. Good luck, that kit sucks.

Huh, I built the RAF version of the Harrier back in 1978 or so, and I don't remember it being really bad.  Of course, back then I painted parts while on the runners and didn't use putty!

Try a Starfix kit.  Now THAT is a bad modeling experience!

Potchip, you are the MaK King!  Indifferent  That's a LOT of resin.

They vary in size a lot and come in same sized boxes, so technically some of the boxes contain very LITTLE resin :)

Gamera

Yeah WHOA Potchip you hit the MA.K jackpot!!! That's friggin' epic!!!!

Been looking for those for years and they hardly ever come out of 2nd hand market. Finally found a couple shops with stock at original retail (allegedly friends with Tenbowkissa) so FOMO kicked in and grabbed what's available out of what I wanted. Still has Cerberus and maybe Sphinx on the wanted list. Finally Nutrocker is not lonely. anymore.

Ah OK, because I was going to ask if the powered suits were six-packs or something.

Mostly 3s, the AFS set is x10.  I didn't realise how big Nutrocker is supposed to be compared to Oscar until I saw how small Oscar in 1/76 is, less than 1/2 length of the Nutrocker.

Be sure to start a WIP thread to let us peek into those boxes!  I have only ever seen them in event reports in Model Graphix and Hobby Japan.

Tinkering around with the SAFS that comes with the old 1/76 Nitto Nutrocker, I have found that adding coiled wire power cables and antennas are doable.

Sniped this up off Ebay from another bidder at the last second. Got it for about 1/3 of what they are going for. It's completed on the sprues are still in the bags. Decals were buried in the instructions and the paper is yellow but the stencils look great. Might actually be able to use them.

After three months of waiting, the HLJ order appeared on my front door today!

A smorgasborg of sci-fi fun!

HLJ1

HLJ2

The only problem is already having so many models ahead of them waiting to be built. Big Smile

Oh wow Phoenix!!! All of those are cool but I love those two 'walker' tanks!

And join the club- it's waaaaaaaay easier to buy than to get something built...

Well, as we all know, build time and funds are inversely proportional to one another.  When we were small, a $3.00 kit was expensive. But once we started working, a $30 kit was not a big deal.  But now we have no time to build it!  Sad

Made my first trip to Andy's Hobby Headquarters since moving to AZ 3 months ago.  Quite a bit of kits and supplies/paints etc.  Lot's of armor, good representation for military planes and a wall of car models.  No airliners :/.  I picked up these two as I've been eyeballing them for months.  I had picked up the Tamiya F-16N aggressor but decided to wait since I have the Hasegawa kit in the stash - just really like that camo on the Tamiya box.

Anyway

Thanks,

John

I love those tanks as well.  The German walking tank has 6 sprues dedicated to the legs alone! I guess you can't get away from "bogies" on AFV regardless of the genre.  Stick out tongue

I'm trying really hard not to get into acquiring more than I can build.  There is the fear of missing an opportunity to grab an interesting model but I think I can manage that.  :)

Too true!  When I didn't have the money I had plenty of time.  I could build them faster than I could afford to get a new one.  Now I can afford more of them but have to fight for the time.

Trying to keep in mind the danger of becoming overwhelmed by having too many choices and of course underwhelmed by a paucity of choices. Everything is a balancing act.  I think I've hit my tipping point and will be focusing more on building than acquiring.  At least for a little while. ;)

Picked this up out of Japan for less than $70 shipped. Couldn't pass it up. Just add it to the pile I'll build someday. Buying at today's prices to build later because I know when I try and buy these kits later they will be far more costly. This is the new tool from 2015 as well.

That's awesome BK!!!

Yeah, I keep saying I'm going to build all this stash I've collected when I retire. Guess we'll see. Real G & Phoenix, you're totally correct there- I remember back as a kid when I had lots of time and no money I'd repaint old kits because I didn't have the money to buy new ones. Now I buy kits I don't have any time to build because I have some spare change but no free time.

A month ago I finally found my grail kit. A Takom 1/35 Mk.I Male. It took me almost two years of searching till found one on ebay.

It is my birthday in a few days and my wife bought three kits for me.

GreySnake, be sure not to use the poly caps included with the Takom kit! A lot of the Chinese kit makers use vinyl instead of polyethylene, which may react with the styrene parts to produce a melted mess.

I had to tear apart my Mk I Female's gun sponsons, because the gun mounts stopped being movable and felt "gummy".  When I looked inside, the pivots had melted!  In addition to having to remake the pivot points, Takom sized their poly caps in an unusual size, so my big baggie of poly caps were unusable.  I resorted to mashing melted polyethylene runners into a hole drilled into a resin scrap block, then drilling an appropriately sized hole in the middle.  Sad

Live and learn.  Avoid my mistake!

Nice, I want one of those too. Very nice score.

Greysnake, that's awesome. Those all look like great kits.

John, Brandon, and GS, those are some fine scores you guys have picked up!

I’ve had a few items come in over the past week or two as well....

First up, a set of Falcon vacuform canopies for post WWII USAF jets. I needed the one for an F-80 that I bought off of eBay that was missing it’s canopy. Most of the others will come in handy as well.

Then I picked up these two decal sets secondhand from Squadron, of all places… they’ll work great for some chopper kits I have where I don’t care for the kit decals, or the kit decals suck (Academy… cough cough)

Thank you for letting me know about the poly caps. That is going to save me a lot of time once I start on the kit. I took a look at the poly caps and they feel a little sticky.

Wife gave ma a gift card for LHS. Tha Avenger is a bit of a trip down the memory lane as I built in when I was in my early teens, the 1/72 scale. I spent 3 weeks in UK to study English and found a dream shop full of kits and this one was one of quite a few I bough.

Nice haul Castel - I have an AM avenger in the stash myself.  Big fan of that plane.

Picked this up cheap on ebay.  The seller listed it as incomplete but provided all the sprue shots and it looked to me like someone had started the cockpit and main gear bay.  I went through the kit and it's all there, though some improperly assembled.  Popped it in the freezer and cracked the parts today - good to go!

Thanks,

John

Keep on modeling!
