My latest stash additions were not any that I had planned for.  Just happened across them on eBay and thought, yeah, I built that one several years ago but I bet I can do it better now.

I built the boxing of the Meteor that came with the V-1 probably about 20 years ago. Wasn't my best effort, so getting another crack at it is going to be a good thing.  I'd built a Monogram Pro-Modeler F-84G maybe about 15 years ago.  Not a bad job on that one, but when I saw that posting, I decided to pick it up.

Still waiting on another kit to be delivered, coming slow boat from China, a Bandai R2-D2 and C-3P0 boxing.  Ordered at the beginning of January, shows it was shipped by 11-January, and no updates since.  I'm beginning to wonder if Godzilla sank the ship....

I understand they started shipping by ballon so don't know what could have happened to it.

Time for a new update. While attending the BLIZZCON Model contest I scored some real good deals on the following:

AND THESE TOO:

I always wanted one of the Modern American heavy haulers and the artillery tractor will go well with my towed 8 inch. They were only $70.00 and $25.00 respectively, so I couldn't walk away from them.

Jarrod was also excited to get the following kit (he picked it out) for only $5.00:

Jarrod and I have another larger kit in route; it has rotors, flies, and hauls heavy things. We will post pictures upon arrival. I think branching out into armor and aircraft may be a re-awakening for Jarrod and I. Figures, ships, armor, aircraft, Space and Sci-Fi.....so I'm realizing it's not all about cars. We are going to blame the many group builds for broadening our interests.

OHHHHHH, big big thanks Tcoat!!! That looks like just the thing!!!!

Great stuff as usual guys!

Aggieman: Yeah the Meteor is a gem of a kit, built one years ago. It's dang near the perfect kit.

Ben: Very cool additons. I've got the same high-speed tractor. I really need to get around to building the darn thing...

A couple of new purchases came in, one that I'd forgotten was coming from Kitlinx.

Found the Tiger II on Kitlinx for a lower price than I saw it on eBay.  Thought that one would be fun to revisit from my childhood circa 1979, so I went ahead and grabbed it.

I am about to run out of my first couple of bottles of Flory.  Not sure why I thought I need all these colors, but one never knows.  Got them directly from Flory.

I've been wanting one of these ever since I built the 1/72 by Revell in the 70's. Finally, it's in my scale.

Without getting too much into it, I looked at the plastic and the mold quality and detail looks fantastic.

I've built that F-5 a few times.  Latest is in aggressor markings.  I love flory washes - swear by them.

Oh wow Ben!  In to big models lately.  Can't wait to see that one built up.

Order from Ukraine finally got here

Some parts for my 1/72 ch-53, c-130 and a beautiful Canadair Challenger - pretty tiny in 1/144.

Thanks,

John

Got three kits for $75 (keep in mind I am in Canada where kits can cost almost double what they do in the US.). He really wanted to get rid of them. There are probably another 10 or so including a couple of Tamiya 1/350 battleships with full photoetch add on kits that I may just go in with $500 cash and offer for the whole works.

Very good deal thats about 50 euros to me; 17 euros each at that scale is a real result.

Happy building

Yep. Unelss I lucked out and found any of these on a shelf someplace I would be looking at an easy $150 for the truck and $100 each for the planes. That of course is if had to bring over from the USA and includes shipping and duty costs. Could probably find some in Canada but even then would pay more and still have shipping costs.

Yep. I have an 80% complete PBR that I started years ago and then just put aside for one reason or another. Not that anybody ever does that ...

You guys got some really good acquisitions! I really like the big scale Skycrane!

This past weekend was the local model swap meet out at the American Legion Hall in Glendale. I went by and picked up these two kits

Cool additions guys!!!

Tcoat: The newer Hasegawa 1/32nd kits are really nice. You're going to love the Ki-84!

SP: Very cool! My first 1/35th kit was one of the Italeri kits in orange stripe Testor's boxes. They're nice kits even today.

Gamera, I sure love those Testors yellow striped boxed armor kits. All of them were really good for their time, and hold up well enough today. I still have plenty more in my stash.

My latest arrivals

I bought this the first week of January from sealmodels.com (located in Hong Kong, I believe) and opted for the surface shipping.  Just came last week.  I was seriously wondering if the boat had sunk.

I wasn't really thinking about either of these old Monogram kits.  I recalled a couple of things that spurred me to go ahead and get these.  Way back in 1979, when I was 12, I was really starting to lose my interest in models for more appropriate things at that age, like baseball and my 8mm movie camera (girls were probably a year or two away). I saw that Messerschmitt in a store, had enough money on me to get it, but opted not to.  Thus I never built a 262 until Tamiya's release many, many years later.  As for the P-61, I had built that one when it came out, I had built it again a few years later, and then again within the last 15 years.  The fact that this was an original 1974 release that still had the Shep Paine diorama sheet included was what did it, as I have collected as many of the SP inserts that I could find.  When I was a kid, I only really built airplanes, so I never encountered any SP inserts in armor kits, but I have most of the airplane kits (B-17, B-24, B-25, B-26, C-47, and now P-61).

I'm gonna have to seriously consider stopping my purchases, as I had to reorganize my stash just to get these additions in there.

Today for my 75th, our youngest son (52) bought me this.. As I already have one and built it in Rothmans style decals, I've ordered some Bastos decals, used in the Belgian Rally Champs at the same period.

The other part of my present was the Airfix Bond Bug, which in 1/32nd is due out in June. I remember them on the streets in the day!

Okay I said NO MODELS until I make a serious dent in my hoar- um stash...

I've been on a big Soviet/Russian AFV bing lately so I got this wild hare to build an Ukranian T-64.

So, sigh, here I go again.......

My latest came in this week:

I built the Dornier way back in the mid-70s shortly after it first came out. My parents had just divorced, and I was not in a good place at the time.  I was 7 or so.  My mom picked it up for me, maybe just to give me something to do, who knows.  That build didn't survive for long, as I don't really have any other memories of it.  Since I've built the Tamiya Arrow, I plan to build this one in the two-seat configuration, which I believe was called the Anteater.

Oh, the Mosquito.  I had never actually planned to get that one since I did the Airfix 1/24 kit back in about 2010.  It is a huge model, so why would I really need another slightly less huge model of the same airframe?  Yet here we are.
