Hey Bruce, I've ordered most of my FineMolds stuff from HobbyLink Japan. It's hard to find their armour in the US and most companies that carry it charge crazy prices. I've found HLJ in some cases to be almost half US prices on FM stuff. You might check Ebay too, I've seen some good prices there.

And yeah, thinking about picking Cherno Alpha but I thought Striker Eureka and Crimson Typhoon were cooler looking, I'd love to have either or both. And there are a few kaiju pre-finished figures but I have no idea how good they look. They might be repaintable though.

Tojo: Ohhhh looks cool, I've got a few Dragon M1s but I love Meng's stuff. Ought to be a great model!

Bobby: Lol, I used to do the same with the first dozen or so shows I attended. Yeah, you get a bit of eyeball overload- I saw stuff I'd never known existed at some great prices. I've cut back quite a lot as my stash has exploded. I try to buy less than five plus what I win at the raffle. 

Bish: Yeap, but at least the Germans were smart enough to only put one turret on the Maus as opposed to the Japanese I-0 with it's five turrets. Yes, this is what insanity looks like. At least the Japanese did intend to use the thing as a mobile bunker rather than a tank, they wanted to drive it to an area on the Japanese occupied Chinese border with the USSR and support the infantry from a dug-in position rather than driving into battle.

I've finished building the E-100 and just need time to paint it. Great kit, I swear it's like building a 1/24th scale Tiger. Lots of big easy to handle parts plus great fit, I was thinking it would be a great kit for a beginner.  

 

I'm heading in that direction myself.  The first Modelpalooza I went to I brought home 37 kits!  I was in hog heaven!  I did get 22 kits at the last one, but it took a little longer and I waited for the really good deals.  .  I'm going to look for more after market and tools now....I hope.

This just arrived from Ebay,I plan to build it as a Marine Corp M1 A1 AIM It seems that I'm doing a lot more buying then building,hopefully my life unclutters sometime soon.I built their T-90 and it was fantastic,hopefully this is as good.

I noticed all those turrets, very much back to pre war thinking, but as a mobile bunker it does make a bit of sense.

Thats the same feeling i have with the E-100 Jagd, like a Jagdpanther on steroids. I liked how the running gear went on with that one long strip on each side.

When I was in Vermont, we had one show a year and the vendors totaled 5 or 6....and that included me!  LOL!  They were great little shows that were held in Plattsburgh, NY or somewhere in Vermont.  Really had a good time at them.  But when I went to Modelpalooza for the first time!  WOAH!  It was a sensory overload!  LOL!  The show in Venice is a really good size one too.  Lots of vendors and some super builds!  I think the Pelicon will be just as big if not bigger from what I'm seeing.  The Modelpalooza and Peilcon shows are 2 day shows.  Going to try and do both days this year!

 

 

 

 

 

When I go to Dallas in June I will be going to Squadron's Eagle Quest. I'm sure there will be vendors there. My wife gets bit by the bug for me as bad as I do so maybe I can come out of it with a few more.

And last week found HobbyBoss's P/F-80A Shooting Star on sale at our local hobby shop and couldn't resist. 

 

I see the Japanese liked their big tanks as well. Almost as heavy as the maus. And i'm sure you will love the E-100.

That is an average haul for me when I go to a show.  20-30 kits usually.  I'm like the King on the Island of Misfit toys....I see a kit, and I just have to give it a home.   LOL!  I've not been to the Pelicon show in Largo before, so I'm pretty excited about that.  And as always Modelpalooza is a blast.  Usually do lunch with JJ and PJ.  Great times to be had.

And lastly, I bought this while browising an antique store a week ago and grabbed it for $10.

Most of you that know me, have known that I only build armor. No more. I've tired of the 500 plus piece kits and have sold off my more complex kits. I just don't have the time or patience. I'm slowly integrating aircraft. I've always liked Japanese aircraft, probably because they are so asthetically pleasing. So I've added 4 aircraft kits to make 7 in the stash with one under construction. Big learning curve, but I'm up to it. I've got a mix of newer and older. I'm not going to drop big bucks if I decide this isn't for me. LOL

 

 

 

 

I'm jealous.  I need to get some IJN and IJA aircraft.  I better start with a zero.  

 

 

 

 

The Otaki kits are older, but much cheaper. Pretty good detailing and decals. I have 3 other Hasegawa kits, and they are more detailed, but more expensive. I'm going to work on the Otaki kits first and hone my skills before I tackle the Hase kits

 

 

Hey Eric, miss seeing you around the forum! I think you'll enjoy those kits. As you said the Otaki kits are still great models even today, I picked up one of their P-40s a year or so ago. And Hasegawa aicraft are generally fantastic though their kits like the P-40 with the fusilage inserts for different versions can be fiddly. These don't have any inserts so they should be a fun and easy build.
