Gota love Russian AC Joe. I like the Mug 23 even though it not supposed to be a great plane.

I had read an interesting article about a mercenary group (Executive Outcomes) operating in Africa flying MiG-23s for the government they were working for.  They noted the MiGs had powerful engines and had excellent acceleration and climb.  They also reportedly flew well.  The radar and avionics were just nose weight, since none of it worked!

Those are awesome! I picked up a few Gundam models over the last couple years but haven't started any yet. They are a really nice change of pace. Now to actually build one...

I hope when you start them you'll post the finished photos- it might inspire me to get off my butt and get moving on one.

I think it's still armour.

It’s armor.... sci fi, but armor of a sort...

So, this week on my days off was another trip with the missus to AZ, and our new home. During our errands in that area of looking for needed items for the new home we also did a side errand- recon of what will be my new local hobby shop, Andy’s Hobby Headquarters in Glendale AZ. I did find a good sized well stocked shop. He carries a good selection of armor, aircraft, auto kits, and more limited selections of sci fi, real space, and ship kits. All sorts of supplies and some accessories were also on hand in the shop (Value Gear... YES!!!!)

Anyways, I did more than just look, and picked up a couple of recent Miniart figure sets for some of my armor (one can never have enough crew figures)

and as Ahnold once said, “I’ll be back.”

Those MiniArt figs have some nice poses.  They're churning out some really nice stuff lately for the Mil scale modeler!

That they are! Not the usual pointing stuff, but actual realistic poses.

Nice additions Pat. I like that Otter.

During my quartly clinc visit in Dallas I went to the local Hobby Town (a kit from Hobby Town when I come down, is part of the budget). I wanted a F-100 but discoverd that the Trumpeter F-100 that was in stock was the F, I wanted a D, so I picked this up instead.

Another kit I can remove from the wishlist. Picture taken in the rental car, not the best with the shadows.

Steve, is that the new tool Airfix B-17?

As for me.... I know that I’ve tried to avoid adding to my stash as much as possible, but sometimes you find deals too good to pass up.

Last weekend at the LHS I found this  Warriors NVA Tank Crew set on clearance. Just what I needed for my NVA T-54 build...

Then at AMPS, one of the guys was selling off this F-15. I know the basic airframe of the kit is actually a D, and not an E. But I need the FAST pack for a different build project, and the Rockeye CBUs will be going to my proper Revell Strike Eagle. So this one will be a D in a Mod Eagle scheme, since I do not have one of those...

And then lastly at Hobby Lobby the other day while getting some polyfil stuffing to use as padding for built models on Tojo’s recommendation, I picked up this little goody. With the 40% off coupon it was only $6...

That is a choice score Steve. I'm currently accumulating AM parts here and there for mine. First and foremost being a mask set for it.

I've been eyeing this kit for a couple of years now.  Just ordered it from Hobbycraft.  At 50% off and free international shipping, I couldn't pass it up!

I got an Eduard P-51D-5 right after they were released, followed by  a Tamiya P-38, and today my Kitty Hawk FJ-2 Fury should be here. One of the three will be next, after I finish the ZM 1/48 F-4J that's in the paint shop. The P-51 and P-38 are beautiful kits as everyone has said. I'm really looking forward to seeing the Fury. I've heard good things about it, and I've wanted a good 1/48 Fury for a very long time.

Yeah, doesn't take up as much shelf as the same scale Gato.....You would still have enough room to put a 1/144 ME Komet alongside her.

Nice project.

Oops, I was suposed to bring it this last time Embarrassed. I'll bring them in March. GH is right, you could list it in the German Ships GB in 10 months (wow, only 10 months away?!) and start on it anytime after.
