Mopar Madness

There sure are some nice kits floating around this topic!  Here’s one I picked up for myself.  I’ll get a few more 1/35 builds under my belt before I tackle it.

MM...very nice kit. Are you going to build it to stand free, or do you have a dio in mind?

Here is my Christmas haul...very grateful for my family looking over my "Wish List" on Scalehobbyist.com

2'x3' Cutting Mat

Sorry the photo is sideways

I picked this one up a few weeks ago..

Got a couple of kits for Xmas (Tamiya Spitfire Vb #61033 and the RAF Mustang III #61047) along with $140 in gift certificates from one of the local hobby shops.  A nice surprise.

$140 gift card at the LHS?! Somebody loves you! The two Tamiya kits sound great too!

Gold hammer and Elation, those all look like good scores...

Since my family never buys me model stuff for Christmas, I always buy myself a little something every year to cover that...

Both were bargains compared to previous searches for these kits and the Viggen was even still sealed in shrink wrap!!! And in the weeks leading up to Christmas I picked some PE sets for kits in my stash and one decal set as well...

2018 looks good from a modeling perspective ...

Tanker - Builder
I now have a Submarine of dubius reputation . It is Yellow . And very weird looking .

It sound's like one of the subs that came in a  cereal box........

Cap'n Crunch ???

Just kidding ! Been kinda curious about that kit. Let us know how she goes together.

Dont worry about the thumbprint, paint it Rust , and call it "Battle Damage"

Hey Bish, Spit fire Mk Ixc to be exact, LOL SORRY sir blame it on the Vodka or the Holiday which shall not be named. I like you here so.... Sorry please forgive me I really want that Mark.

I have my meat hooks into a P-51D, a friend is selling his to me. Should mention it is the Tamyia 32nd scale. I g think the Mk Ixc would be a nice book end. Really hope you had a productive day building one of your AWESOME builds.

I don't do much weathering, will probably be done as one fresh of the assembly line, ready for shipping to the front.  Might either try and find a flatbed rail car to mount on, or do a loading dock dio.

The 190 will probably be a "clean" build as well, strictly OOB.  May jump into the Pride GB as soon as I get a couple of others finished up.

Well, that old Panther is certainly one way to wet your feet, especially when it comes to painting and weathering. And i'll be looking forward to seeing what you do with that 190.

Still waiting on the arrival of the Bismarck and Indy from Squadron, but finally downloaded other pics, enjoy.

The Pacific B-17E from Academy.

The versions included in the decal sheet.

The other two I have picked up from two different LHS's

While I have a couple of other armor kits, this one will be my first build over on the dark side. Is a fairly easy one from the looks with the rubber band tracks, so a good way to get my feet wet, before I tackle the IMC and Dragon kits on the shelf.

Looking foward to the pics, and here's hoping I don't shake the box the wrong way.

Sorry Bish!!!

Anyway, I did order two kits for myself this year. One is still in the shipping wrap and the other hasn't gotten here yet so I'm grabbing photos off the interwebs.

The usual vendors I shop in the US don't have this but I found it from the Korean Toy Shop on Ebay for about the same price I'd find in the States plus with worldwide shipping and handling. So I sent my order directly to South Korean- land of beautiful women and all the kim-chee you can eat:

That was all I was going to buy but HobbyLink Japan had a SALE. For the first week nothing but anime/manga items and Pokemon so I was safe. Then they had to do aircraft and armour...... Sigh so I bought one kit (figures go with kits and don't count as kits themselves!)

Limited edition Great Wall P-61A with Lionroar accessory parts:

I've been grousing about the lack of Korean War figures for years, thank you DEF Model!

These for a friend in our IPMS club. Really- I already have my own set. Wink

And I've been wanting to try the Japanese Green Tea Kitkat bars for sometime so what the hey why not?

LOL, first people won't mention a certain RAF single engine fighter around me and now this. I seem to be getting a reputation.

LOL the holiday which shall not be named.

There's a lot of great stuff going up here, stuff I need to put on my wishlist.

Thats the problem with this thread. I keep seeing kits i then decide i want, and so any chance of reduceing how many i add to the stash goes out the window.

Who's silly idea was it to start this thread.

Some awesome stuff there guys!!!

Templar: Just finished Takom's T30/34 a few weeks ago (and really need to post the photos). Frankly it was one of those open box, shove a bottle of cement and a hobby knife in there, close box, shake, and the kit assembles itself kits. It was about as complex as an AFV Club or Dragon kit but went together as smoothy as a Tamiya or Academy kit. I'm looking forward to building their T29 and will be buying more of their stuff.

Mike: I hope you post that Meng 'Just for Kids' superdeformed B-17. I've seen them and really would love to see one built up.

I think takom do a couple of Mk IV's, not sure what else they might have.

Takoms, good kits ?

They are EXCELLENT, even better than Dragon IMO. I have the KT with full interior and the 12.8 CM Flak 40 Zwilling and both are just over the top.

Another great company is Rye Field. I have their Tiger I  with full interior and it's just awesome in details.

I have heard about the Rye Field Tigers. I am going to get the Bergepanzer Tiger to replace my old CMK kit. The Rye Fields kit is a fraction the price of the Dragon and from what i gather much better.

All food for thought, thanks for the feedback. Will keep an eye out for a Mark 1.And knowing your aversion to a certain festive season, if we do not cross paths here before it, I 'll hope that the New year brings you at least half of what you want, and all of what you need.

Those are very fine acquisitions gentlemen.

I put in an order  for two of the new Panda M1's, and a Tamiya 222 for fun.

Picked up a couple of Molotow 1mm chrome pens from HL this afternoon as well. I've heard way too much good news about those pens lol.

And lastly, a Meng kid's B-17 just for kicks. Looks like a fun kit for a weekend.

All in all I've spent too much money, but I'm already at 88 hours as of yesterday so the rest of this week is all O.T. so I think I'll survive lol.

Only have the Takom Krupp heavy wheeled mine clearing vehicle.  Clean moldings, no interior on this particular model, detail OK for me. Instructions are complete and easy to understand and work with.

I've not actually built any of theres. I do have the FV 432 and its look brilliant, and i have read some good reviews about most of their stuff.

I just checked Hannants, they have a Mk IV Male, Mk IV Female, one that can be built as either, a Mk IV Hermaphrodite and a Mk IV Tadpole. Tamiya also has a MK IV male kit. And they have tracks for a meng Mk V, so looks like tehres a fair bit of choice.
