Ah.... the Gundams from the 08th MS Team. What I don't like from the Gundams naman despite them being the heroes of the series.... are their color schemes.... the common red white and blue (dagdag mo yellow) colors are just too.... fastfoody for me. ehehehe. They simply are just too visible. Dead [xx(] Would've been cool sana if they came in camo, low-visibility or drab colors just like some zeon mechs or real-life military vehicles.

According to my research, the original plans for the Mobile Suits in the series was really to be painted in a military scheme. The color that you see now (R Y B W) replaced the military scheme to make it more appealing to kids. The FA-78-2 (Full Armored version of the RX-78-2) was painted in olive drab. Also, the MS-06J has a camo pattern.

Any tips on how to weather it? I need it to be very slight (I want to preserve the tracks! It took me 6 hours to detail a single band)

That also accounts why these beautiful mechs not appealing to the veteran modelers. It's because they look like a toy at a glance.

Nah, I'm currently kinda allergic to cuteness and cute things.... traumatic even.... those SD kits definitely are too cute. I'll just stick to my Ben Di HDs for now. Thanks for the offer though. Smile [:)]

Marnygv,

Welcome to FSM! Glad to have you with us!

Shonen,

Your works are looking better everytime, my friend. Keep it up! Tell me if you get some glitches with the light overspray technique thingy. Bull's bringing a spare compressor for members without one. Ill probably be bringing my Spraywork airbrush to go along with it. Maybe one of these coming meetings we'll have a light overspray clinic?

CBrain,

The memories! Ive watched every episode of Macross shown on RPN 9. Ricky and Mei, the romance that was not to be! To my mind Mei developed a celebrity complex. Ricky would have been better off with Lisa Hayes.

Beth and Meekai,

Heres an idea on what to do with the F-8: enter it in the BACup this Sunday! Plus, we could take pics and post them here. Cant wait to see it.

Lani,

Post ka naman ng pics ng F-23 mo.

If you have time, I wish you could join us this Sunday too. We'll grieve for my stricken Fokker Special. The Skull and Crossbones! The UNSpacy markings...! Waaahh!

Dhel,

Everyone's welcome to join. Its always nice to see a big crowd of people with the same interest: scale modeling. And fishballs. Hehehe!

A Mig with Macross markings? Why not? Id love to see that. I think you'll have an easier time with an F-14. Buy one with the VF-84 Jolly Rogers markings (skull and crossbones) and you'll have a backdated Fokker Special. I heard somewhere that the creators of Macross were really fascinated with the F-14 (hence the similarity in design), and more particularly VF-84. Ahem! And apparently, so am I (picture sig).

Meekai,

Muchas gracias, señorita!

CBrain,

And speaking of Blackhawks, how is your S-70 doing? Will I see it Sunday?

Yeah.... their love triangle angle really I think was the subject of the whole Macross story. The others were just side-stories.

I'll grieve with you.... maybe I'll bring along my ARII VF-1S Skull Squadron (Fokker Special).... it was built before I learned about putty and clear coating though so it's got lotsa ugly seamlines and yellowing decals. Dead [xx(] Brush-painted too.

Hmn.... I don't think seeing a semi-painted unassembled cockpit would please your eyes.... still awaiting for the color XF-57 (Buff) to be available from our suking hobby shops. Sad [:(] I really suck at mixing paint to get the shade I desire.
