Beth,

I don't frequently go to Lil's far from my office at escolta, have not gone to JMN, when any member of forum ask for a certain model and where it's available , I always contact stc for the item and then post it hear.

Have been a customer of stc since '99 and have not encounter any problem from them, whether dried-up paint or mispacked models, they always replaced the items

If theres any problem with the purchase you can alwaays e-mail stc about it.

Happy modeling to all !!

Whoa! A day passes and so many posts! Kaka-enganyo!

Okay, I listed them down this time. Welcome, Dyango, Nickster and Dhel (hope Im not missing out on anybody; if I did, my profuse apologies). And welcome back 4-eyes!

Shrikes,

I dont anybody would ever truly be completely happy with what he or she builds. Its the self-critique in us. But you know, like our namesake Bert Anido, a lot of us are just happy to see built up models. We all know the effort that comes along with it. Kits are very hard to build, and thats why there arent a lot of modelers these days.

Beth,

Wow! CAFA! Years ago their uniforms were pin stripes and brown skirts or pants. Ganun pa rin ba?

Yes, a manual. Hehehehe! Ang dami lang text. But if youre really into F-8s, you'll find out the performance envelopes, wirings, etc. Hope to meet you and your friends on the 30th.

Shonen,

Looking forward to your Sherman, my friend! Pang Nationals na ba yan?

Junior,

Dont be too modest. I also learn a lot from you. Were it not for you my M-2 would have been a disaster. Thanks, kaibigan!

Meekai,

Dapat kasi nilabas mo na yung Cat mo last time. Anyways, Ive got a 64mb memory stick now (yun lang na-afford ko, but its much better than a 16mb stick, huhuhu!). We'll take pics of your Cat on the 30th. Deal?

Oh and by the way...

Dyango,

Nowadays the most numerous offerings in 1/72 fixed-wing aircraft (insofar as the Philippines is concerned) come from Academy, Revell AG and Italeri.

Most of the newer Academy kits (ex. OV-10A and D, P-51 series, F-8E, etc.) have very good molding with finely recessed panel lines, and some with very good interior detail. They come in lower prices too. You will find a lot of these in JMNs and Hobbies & Comics in Makati Cinema Square, and Lil's stores. There are a few of these items I think in STC.

Revell AG also has a good line of 1/72 fixed- and rotary-wing kits. But some are reboxed ESCI or Italeri kits (same with most 1/72 Tamiya kits). Some Revell AG helo kits (like the Agusta 109) are really very good. The advantage, as Ive seen so far is that Revell has the best decal sheets found in the box.

Italeri kits are okay, but far from perfect. They are fairly priced but errors do abound. The plastic is softer too, making them prone to damage, especially with regard to small parts. As far as I know Italeri has two decal suppliers: Zanchetti and Cartograf. In my experience, Zanchetti decals are good. Thin and adheres pretty well. Cartograf, on the other hand, are the exact opposite, and you will need lots of diluted Elmers glue to make them stick. Worse, decal solvents make the ink dissolve! Unfortunately, decal suppliers are handed out contracts for a particular item. So all Cougar helo kits, for example, will most likely be provided with Cartograf decals.

Hope this helps. And hope to see your (and all you here) entries this October!

Lani,

Macross? Ricky Hunter and his love interest Mai? Ah, the tragedy! I had a kit of the Fokker Special once. I made it transform dozens of times the parts slowly disappeared. ... What have I done?!!!!

No bucks, no Buck Rogers

Some more inprog shots just for you allan :D

Still to do:
- figures
- extra equipment
- tank weathering

Any tips on how to weather it? I need it to be very slight (I want to preserve the tracks! It took me 6 hours to detail a single band)

Oh look! Another Sherman! I'm starting a collection here! :p

noel and mang ben

thank for your attention, its obvious that the issue has subsided by itself without any resolve from those who know the owner "pretty well" considering how long the tread has passed.

without further insult, i suggest you post your reply to Rod i believe he's the one who posted the problem.

my opinion remains.
