the fact that i don't have an airbrush makes me wonder how i would go about with the finishing, add to it that, i don't have that much knowledge about cars, specially its internals... i know how the engine works, theoretically, as taken up in science class. hehehe
i like how the mini looks like, i actually see it as something pretty and cute just like the new beetle... no offense intended.
i find cars, along with tanks pretty intimidating to build. i'd settle for chibi mechas and "unano" scale planes that catch my fancy for now. after all, i am merely just a beginner...
hehe.
stick around, night_crawler... nice to have you here. i drop by automotive forums just to take a glimpse of their builds, man... i can't help but drool...

Thanks emjaetee. If I may suggest, why not try out another car other than the Austin Mini Cooper. I've got a Morris Mini Cooper with all its parts still sealed in their plastic bags. All those parts staring at you when you open the box can get pretty intimidating. I felt the same way too so as you can see the kit's still as fresh as the day it was bought - untouched by human hands. Why not try out one of Revell-Monogram's SnapTite car kits to get your confidence up? Actually, starting out with a fairly simple car kit can teach you a lot about cars in general and perk your interest. Just let me know what info you need regarding cars if you wish.

Yes, as Jun mentioned, I think that the Motormodelers is the only club here in the Philippines that is fully dedicated in Car modeling. You can contact Jay Tison at 7224681. He will be happy to be of help to you.

That's totally fine. You can easily delete those earlier posts you made by clicking the "delete" button on the upper right hand corner portion of your post.
Muscle cars are nice, but I only seem to find interest on one specific model.... the '69 Dodge Challenger. Can't find a 1:24th scale model of the car in any of the LHS though.
I also have a few racing cars in my to build queue.... They're mostly rally cars and a couple of touring cars.
Now, the hot exotics in scale don't catch my fancy, I often already see them in scale (either model kits or toys) that to see another one is just another recurrence of deja vu. It's a different story when I see the real car in the flesh though... it just takes my breath away. [:0]

Point well taken cbrain. Btw with your "cbrain" handle and location indicated as "boot sector" makes me derive a conclusion that you're not only a modeler but also a pc enthusiast or I.T. person. Anyway, I hope to include in my project list one day a rally version of Mitsubishi's Lancer Evo. It would great to have a scale version of that fantastic car.

pardon me? hehehe
as usual she spends a lot in the field and tinkers with her kits stashed in her drawer if she's in the office. i have one of her freedom GD, these 1/144 kits are easy to build.

Welcome Chito, I did'nt know some of you guys are mini freaks too! I've been on and off building my Monte Carlo Mini for quite some time now- it's quite intimidating, me being an armour builder, I had problems being neat with the build.
Cbrain- Can't wait to see those mini's built, awesome job on the Evo and Mirage! (we also used to have a Mirage before, painted turquoise and my dad painted the mags with two cans of Tamiya gun metal. Quite a tough and fun car- we miss it alot
Emjae- Can't wait to see yours too, you can get a Tamiya spray paint for your mini shell.

Thanks for the compliment. Uh, the Mirage.... well, it's in pieces right now. I'm currently sanding and puttying the mold flashes.
Ei, do you by any chance have photo shots of the interior of your Mirage? Specially the center console. Looks like I will be having to scratchbuild the interior of this car since the kit didn't come with any interior except for the dashboard and steering wheel.
Damn motorized modelkit.

Nope, I'm in the engineering business. But yes, I used to be a pc enthusiast way back in high school (until now na rin) for fun. That's where I encountered the virus (c)brain. Thought It would be a cool alias in different pcgaming forumboards. It just sounds so.... villainous.... ehehehe. The handle just stuck and I adopted it when I returned to the plastic modeling hobby and joined IPMS last year.
Uy, a Lancer Evo rally car... I also have one still unbuilt... a Tamiya 1/24 Evo V.
