Hi Ray,

If you click on the pic,, it'll make it bigger :) Then there's a box to close it in the upper left hand corner. It took me a few to figure that out myself.

Joe,

Any chance you could make that pic a wee bit bigger.  looks like your building in 1/350 from here!

I can only imagine granddadjohn :)

Well, here's what I have so far. Main & tail rotor, seats & bulkhead. The seats still need their tiny little legs. But I'm following the instructions from the model review for this particular model I found here on FSM. So those come later. I still haven't added the cables for the main rotor, because I'm still contemplating what to use.

Well, that explains your avitar ;)

That would make quite an interesting diorama for sure. And the very hard core scale guys would probably have something to say about it :)

Hueys are definately an icon for sure! Apache's are simply mean looking machines. But if I saw/heard either coming from an enemy I would run & hide as fast as I can!

Joe,

See, now it makes perfect sense!  I think that's a great tribute to you uncle and I am a little partial to Huey myself as my father was a gunner with the 190th AHC.  I think and Apache configured as a medivac next to a armed UH-1H gunship would be quite the "what if" build.  Course I'm sure it would send chills down the spines of many a fling wing fan.

Will do. You are correct. They don't match. ah64apache is actually my email address, and I'm just partial to that picture :)

My uncle was a Huey crew chief in Vietnam. So the handle is kind of a tribute to him Cool [8D] He didn't make it back Sigh [sigh] And I've allways loved Hueys, and helicopters in general.

That would be an interesting scheme on an apache ;)

Thanks Again!

Joe,

Glad it helped.  Please post some pics of your build. We'd love to see what you're doing.  I was wondering about your handle. It doesn't exactly match your avatar.  Makes me think of an Apache with big red crosses on the side!

I'd try here:

http://focalplaneimagery.smugmug.com/Rotary-wing%20aircraft

There are some really nice shots of Blackhawks from the top. Just zoom to the original size and the rotorhead on some of em will fill your computer screen.  Lots of detail if you look close.

like this?

or this?

or do you actually want the rotor blade and not the head?

Blackhawk Main Rotor

Hi,

I'm building a MRC/Academy 1/35 scale UH-60L Black Hawk. Id like to also add the cables that are located on the main rotor for a more scale like appearence. But I can't find any pictures that have a good close up of the main rotor. I looked on airliners.net and googled. But not much luck. Does anyone know where I might find a good close up of a Blackhawks main rotor? Maybe top view?

PS there's a nice model kit review of this particular model here on FSM. I'm glad I found it! It'll save me some time Smile [:)]

Thanks!

Joe
