As far as the lettering goes ... just copy and paste them back into "word" then blow them up from there. I did the same thing, along w/ your window method when finishing my SEAL. I also used freetranslation.com to figure out what I was going to write on the wall to begin w/.

yes, i know he's been drying for days...but ya see i take my time when doing my figures...after all perfection takes time!!! ooooohhhhhh how i can see the glare staring back at you (and everyone else) in your monitor right now!!! no, im not perfect and would never claim to be. see what's up is, his flesh was dry yesturday but then i used my cad red oil for his shirt...after realizing i probably should've used my brick red humbrol...but whatever. he still looks good. just finished the shadowing, have to add a little dbing then my dull coat. so yeah, he should be done later today!!! WOW, I ACTUALLY WILL FINISH SOMETHING!!!

btw, as far as your lettering, if yoour figure wasnt blocking it, i could have my wife's friend translate it for ya!

Well, for the SEAL I used something pro-paganda ... "For Freedom". It might be a little hard to read b/c of the stencil, but then again I think the fuzziness makes it look a little better too. I choose that phrase b/c if fits the scene and I think that I'm going to use that for a title as well.

well, guys it may have seemed like a long time but only 4 days and im really really happy about that. i really like how this one came out and i really hope you guys do too. i really enjoyed making this vignette and plan on doing more of them. i like how they show off the figure and still can tell a story...but mostly how incredibly easy they are... i plan on taking this one to my next ipms meeting. ok...here you go.

They don't all have to be a year-long struggle(just some of them) That scale water bottle is really convincing(nice addition to a thirsty-looking scene) One more thing ~ Confusous say " a Master is one who makes it look easy, but never claims it is easy "

1) where'd you get the water bottle?

2) I really like your groundwork ... you mind explaining how you worked the grass and rocks in?

chris: thanks glad you like your picture ocme to life!! again, thanks for all of that!!! the logo, is i believe a "s" and "l" thinking its for st. louis...though not sure!

scott: the water bottle is left over from my tamiya m1a2, there are two of them with the kit. thought about maybe putting it in his hand but wasnt sure. ummm, glued my wall down, mixed and layed down a thin layer of celluclay, brushed on white glue, put my bricks and rocks in. when dry, i brushed on more white glue and sprinkled real sand on it. blew off the excess. then using rr scenic tall grass, pulled some out of the bag, mixed it with some darker color, cut to my desired length, then white glued in place. that's it...pretty simple!!! least i think! thanks for liking it!

I think its b/c there are only a select few out there that build what we do. At least in my view, on our threads, there seems to be the same people posting here and there ....

I suppose most people don't crit or comment b/c the subject just doesn't interest them. I'm even guilty of seeing a threads title and just not checking in on it .... Such is life I guess. for German material, for example, I find that I can only comment on painting of figures' flesh b/c I don't know beans from bullets about German armor, uniform colors, weapons, etc.

HAHA!!! .... and sure ... some people are better than others, but thats all a matter of opinion. I think that everyone is a MASTER IN THEIR OWN RIGHT. ya know indy, i was really going to go in a different direction with this but im so tired of fighting with people in here. this shouldnt be that hard as its supposed to show off models and teach people. and for some reason it seems to turn into this kind of stuff all the time. you threw that rediculous confusous statement out there not me...and i didnt call myself a master nor did i think you called me as such. btw, a brain surgeon can call what he does easy and still be damn good at his job!!! and whether you or anyone else in this whole freakin forum thinks or cares or doesnt care or what the hell ever, about my stuff or how good it is or how good it should be or how good it isnt means absolutely NOTHING to me as i do not model for you sir, nor do i model for anyone in here nor do i model for shows or for awards...i model for me and personally (and i DO throw this out haphazardly) i think im damn good at what i do!!!!! dont respond to my threads indy if this is the kind of response im going to get from you because i deserve better.

Man ! indy...dont you see, i have no problem if we disagree on things. i have issue with some of your wording that makes me out to look "uninformed"!! that other thread was totally misunderstood whether it was you or i. i posted in my first post that it is up to the person to prime and wash. i stated emfatically that i dont. i dont feel my figures are any less for ware because of it. they tell you and tell you it should be done. i know there are agents etc. on these figures...i've been doing this, researching this, reading the books for almost 20 years. im not some nub off the street. i dont care what book says what, priming isnt a necessity in order to achieve good results. basic isnt basic its been shoved down our throat in order for you to believe it's a necessity. THAT was my point!!! yeah, i read all the books and heard all the b.s. about how you should do it, but like everything there has to be someone who says..."no you dont" and i must be that guy since no one else wants to or is willing.

now im sorry for some of my comments as i woke up on the wrong side of the bed to begin with and that isnt your fault, but your words whether directly or indirectly made me out to look foolish and reckless which is hardly the case. my points and information i give to other people is equally valid as anyone's and shouldnt have to defend myself to "opinion's"!! im tired of this though as its always the same argument. if you want to forget all of this i am more than willing as it's just stupid and meaningless nothing that should mean just that...nothing!!! i've always respected your work indy as well as your comments and i still to this moment dont know how we got here when i was offering my opinion on stuff and you yours. like i said, i woke up on the wrong side of the bed to begin with, my wife has lung cancer and its a long story...didnt mean to take it out on you, you just happened into one of my pet peaves and that's the idea that you "have to" wash and prime figures if you ever hope to become an accomplished modeler. whatever though, im taking a break from all of this for a good week or so by going out to the country to spend some time alone and ponder life. sorry indy, and sorry to everyone else...
