any ideas anyone on the best way to replicate this is??

I've always done it by drilling a bullet hole into one side then, using the tip of my knife, kinda carve/slice away small pieces of the surrounding material (I almost always use basswood though).  Remember to keep the exit holes with "splintered wood"  running up & down with the grain of the door...  Practice on some scrap material until you get what you want unless you don't mind building several more doors, lol..

HELL YEAH.... no argument there!  There's a saying... "A picture is worth a thousand words".  In this case, it is worth a million words! Big Smile [:D]  Only thing I am disappointed that Fermis didn't ask me to come up and help him with the experiment... I think I am only 3-4 hours drive away!
