Me410 A-1: To The Finish! 11/7/10
Posted by chukw on Sunday, March 15, 2009 9:50 PM

Here I go again!   After a bit of rest I've begun my latest project- hope you're ready for another long adventure.  We'll be adding some Aires resin- haven't done that yet- and we'll be meeting some interesting new characters, too.   I'd like to detail an engine- if anyone would be willing to sell me part of their Aires engine set, that is.  The cowlings are just too pretty to leave both off!  Contact me via email if you can help- and thanks!

This should be fun, built this kit myself a few years back. Not a bad kit except for the canopy fit.

Very cool Chuck! I love those big WWII twins - the 410, P-38, DH Mosquito, Beaufighter, B-25, etc - but they sure make for a monster build. Not that you'll let that bother you, LOL. Can't wait to learn gobs more from you as this birdie progresses.

So does Herr Reichspfennig Eagle have a name yet? Big Smile [:D]

Hoooo eeeeee Chucky. This is a great subject to build. I loved mine, it went together like a dream. Like you say the glass can be a bit dodgy, but nothing i found too serious. The gunsights for the barbettes are kitted upside down. The destructions got em wrong. That is the only tricky bit, getting the glass over the sights.

Heres a couple of mine, complete with dodgy paint job.

I just used the Eduard PE set and the kit did the rest.

Ah ha.... round 2, is it?  I can only echo what's already being said- I can't wait.  Heck, this time I might even start watching from the begninnig, instead of coming in late like a certain Helldiver build.

Heck, I won't even care that you got it in the wrong scale, either!  Wink [;)]

I just wanted to post a reply here so I can get the email updates... Everyone else has already said all there is to say. Exciting times ahead, I do believe. I'm interested in the cast of characters. About how long does it take a master artist like yourself to whip up the fun animations that go with your WIP photos?

I wouldn't be suprised.  I wonder if the one on the right is a self-portait....   Mischief [:-,]  Big Smile [:D]

(Seriously, though, I love the cartoons.  I'm studying Art in college right now, which may or may not mean anything, so it's cool to see two of my own interests combined in a way that's both entertaining and informative, in a very competent manner.)

Wow, thanks, fellas- the heat is on now!  Mischief [:-,]  Nice builds there, Philo and Guy- it's a sweet little kit, ain't it?  I've begun riveting, and it's really fun, if not a bit time-consuming.  Is it just me, or did Dymo tape used to be a lot thicker?

If I put my wife in this strip I'd building in the gutter- so my little Fritzi is entirely ficticious.  ;)

What kind of art are you studying, Lucien- other than the art of scratchbuilding, that is.  My grandfather told me when I was just a kid that I'd "Starve to death!" as an artist... :D

Thanks again to all- and stay tuned!
