Thanks, Pard...  Dad gave it to me when I made Staff Sergeant many years ago... It was given to him by his crew-chief back in the 343rd FS, one Staff Sergeant Norbert "Knobby" Thilges...  But since both my kids are O's (Boy's a Captain, Little Girl's a Warrant), they gonna have to fight over it after I'm gone...

Easter egg?  Hadn't looked the first time, I was admiring Fritzi's charms.  But on a closer look, there is a blue ovoid shape at the head of one of the pins in this shot:

On the pin just above the caption, "Balsa wood shim".  Is that it?

Regards,

Brad

Bit of a short update today- we washed my wife's station wagon, which is akin to waxing the Saratoga.  I drive a Toyota MR2, which is, in comparison, an F4F Wildcat.  I swear I could land it in the back of that Volvo!   Meanwhile, Pfennig's off on some mysterious errand, so we have a special guest to help Fritzi with today's installment:

Holy cow! More eggs!  Tongue [:P] Right on time Chuk! Thanks so much for sharing as I am painting right now! Gonna try some of those shading technics!  Painting on an Fonderie Minatures Ventura!   So It is the Tricolor sheme and dark blue like your Hell Diver!  Real easy model just falls together! Of course if you believe that you'll also believe that I am out on the town with your characters!

 Great dtuff thanks again!

chuk, nice little car you're sporting there. Is it peppy?

Oh yeah, the model. It's really starting to come together now. This is my favorite part of a built, detailing all the little cockpit/gunbay/wheelwell areas. I'll be watching for the email next Sunday!

so, the first question that pops to mine chuck...

Are you going to scrape out all of that resin detail and replace it with real wires and scratch built parts?  It just doesnt seem like a chuckW build if you dont, heh, also, be careful with your little cartoons, first one nazi girl, now two, and one is wearing less... we dont need a WIP + nazi hentai here chuck Dead [xx(]

Hi Chuk,

Been watching since you started this one and I must say you love those extras. Looking terrific so far.

What is that container your Iwata Custom is in? Whats it for?

Thanks,

Heres a beauty for you Chuck.

Excellent stuff on the resin. You work on the post shading and the washes really works. Ive started doing similar on my builds since your helldiver. One question though big boy, are you sure about the RLM 02? I know the wheel bays would be 02. Have you refs that say 02 instead of 66?

Thanks, my firends!   Glad you like my little helpers- the girls take more time to sketch than, say, Li' Chuk- but are more fun!  ;D

All right!  I have that beastly kit and will build it, just to use the Devilfish PVaitors decals!  Good luck, buddy!

Thanks for the pic, Guy.  I'm totally certain that the weapons bay would be in 02- only visible areas,  the cockpits in this case, got the 66 treatment.

Again, thanks for all the kind words, guys- see you next time!

I saw the little guy myself the last time I was on the forum. Didn't pay any particular attention to him, though, then in the interim, my old computer went kaplooie and I had to buy a new one.

Ah a most excellent update Chuck!  I really enjoy reading about your techniques and tips! The colored art pencils seem to do well.  The washes and the flat coat prior to detail painting are all things I like to do as well. The dull coat just seems to make the colors stick better where I want them. Especially on small stuff.

I have been working on a 109 since finishing that Ventura Dead [xx(] and need to ask you for some help.  Doing a lot of detail stuff and need someone to help me get the washes and post shading done well.  Maybe Fritzi and Hannah could put on their swim suits and lend a hand. I don't want to be pushy but how bout a dark haired beauty as well! ..

What you'll get right to it? Thanks Chuck! Knew I could count on your help! Your sending them right over?  Great!
